I'm in Miami until the 30th if anyone wants to hoist one or ten with me.

I'd love to meet some of you scoundrels. We'll figure out logistics.

Have the best Christmas, everyone; and may your holidays be safe and filled with love.

:hi5: Happy holidays, my brother. I am going to try to hook up with you sometime in the coming year. I am in Pullman again on the 28th and will try to find some time in May to travel your direction for a day or so.

Just trying to spread a bit of Christmas joy

Marty and I met earlier and I can confirm that he's one of FH's finest. If you ever get a chance to meet him, do so. He is a wealth of knowledge about Florida history.

Wish I could guys, but Titusville is a long way for this old guy to drive after some margaritas and grub.

Would love to see you though, Marty. Maybe a plan will develop to get some east coast FH'ers together somewhere mid-way. I would also like to hook up with Darin while I'm here, so maybe a west coast thing too?

By the way Mal, lovin' the new badges!

Gotta rethink my plans seeing as to how you're leaving on gameday. Grrrr

Not really any place to meet halfway unless you want to have a few cold ones with the gators on the alley.

If you're up for it, inFINSgrl says it's okay if we have a guest some night. You can come over, get your drink on, and sleep it off in the guest room. :)

    Sound like a plan?

    Oh and.....Merry Christmas, Joe.

Sorry I've been absent from this thread Darin. I spent the day yesterday rescuing a little dog and waiting for test results from the vet to determine if he has a chance of making it or we have to put the little guy to sleep.

I found him behind a restaurant near my mom's. No one could be bothered to even put out a bowl of water for this pathetic creature, much less feed him anything of substance. He was so dehydrated and starved that his kidney function is impaired and he is anemic.

He also has a congenital condition in his hind legs which makes him unable to move around very well, which I'm guessing is the reason that some heartless bastard just abandoned him.

He's a chihuahua of indeterminate age and weighs barely 3 pounds. Sometimes I hate this place so much that it makes me shake. No way that in Seattle this defenseless angel would not have been taken in by someone. At the very least someone would have been merciful enough to give him peace long before he got this bad.

    Warning: these are rather graphic.

He's improved steadily. I had them keep him overnight again for more IV fluids and a sub-q bolus. He seems in better spirits though. I'll know more by about 2 tomorrow.

 Thanks, Greg. I needed that. Between the heaviness in my heart and the lightness in my wallet, this little guy is having a profound effect on my life already.

I hope he can recover. I'd like to give him some pampered years to make up for what he's been through.

Anyone know what the airlines' policy is on carry-on doglets?

    NaboCanine. 8-)

Airlines depend from carrier to carrier. I have traveled with pets onboard a couple times, but also had to check them in too. It also depends how many are on the flight as there are limits on how many can be in the cabin.

Best thing to do is check with your airline. There usually is a charge for a Pet ticket, but usually paid for at the gate, or was when I last travelled, a good sob story on how you found the little thing and maybe they will waive the ticket.

Take the kid home with you Nabo. Chicks dig a man walking a dog, especially a little dog. Dog parks are full of socially removed and absent minded soccer-mom's who, whilst enveloped in complete loneliness five days a week, are longing for the warm arms of a sweet-dog-saving-Lothario such as yourself.

    Joe -

That is absolutely criminal. I have a little chi - 4 years old - same color as that little doggy. It boggles the mind that anyone could be that cruel. Thanks on behalf of all animal lovers for helping the little guy out.

    Mmmmm...soccer moms.

Glad to see you back dude.

I am taking him home, bought the carrier and stuff for the trip already. Having gluv check the airline's policy...but regardless, he's gonna have to get used to four cats now. And they to him.

Mary, I'm only glad to be able to do this.

All in all, this has been the best trip back home yet. Bailey (the little guy's new name) will help me celebrate my 13th anniversary of arriving in Seattle this coming January. We'll both have reason to be thankful.

Back to business - is anyone going to the game?

I'm really ecstatic for you Joe. You're going to be exceedingly happy and rewarded time and time again when that little puppy looks at you with his huge eyes and wags his tail crazily when you come in the door. I'm praying that he has no lasting effects from his ordeal and if you need any "chi" tips, let me know.
