*These rankings do not count the Thursday night victory for the Dolphins.

Rank Points (record) Team - Last week's ranking

    1 16.406 ( 9 - 0 ) Indianapolis Colts - 2
With the best game of the season, and their best victory of the season the Colts leap over the Saints who held the top spot for 3 weeks.
    2 16.194 ( 9 - 0 ) New Orleans Saints - 1
I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but the Saints continue to play crappy, inconsistent, football. Unfortunately for their opponents, they make just enough plays to win every week.

    3 13.739 ( 7 - 2 ) Cincinnati Bengals - 6
In case there were still any doubters, the Bengals are for real. They've swept division rivals Ravens and Steelers. They've virtually sewn up the AFC North. But after that miracle catch loss in week 1 to the Broncos, they may need help to get a bye week. The first bit of help will be playing the Raiders, Browns, and Lions over the next 3 weeks.

    4 12.806 ( 8 - 1 ) Minnesota Vikings - 5
Another team that has virtually sewn up their division before playing their 10th game. They've swept closest rival Green Bay. The reason they rank below 7-2 Cincinnati? Half their victories came against teams that are currently 1-8.

    5 10.861 ( 6 - 3 ) Denver Broncos - 3
3 straight losses after starting 6-0. And it won't get any easier with the Chargers coming to town and the Giants and Colts within the next 4 weeks. Despite their losing streak, the Broncos have slipped very little in the power rankings. Earlier victories against the Bengals (7-2) Cowboys, Patriots, Chargers (all 6-3) are the reason.

    6 10.306 ( 6 - 3 ) Arizona Cardinals - 9
Another team that is running away with their division, and it will only get easier. The Cardinals remaining opponents are a combined 23-40.

    7 10.194 ( 6 - 3 ) Pittsburgh Steelers - 4
As a Dolphin fan, I was hoping that week 17 game would be meaningless for 1 or both teams. So much for that. Steelers are strictly in the wild card hunt now after getting swept by the Bengals.

    8 8.583 ( 6 - 3 ) New England Patriots - 8
Love watching the Patriots lose. They'll likely rebound and bury the Jets this week. But if you're a Dolphin fan you've got to root hard for the Jets to pull off the upset.

    9 8.417 ( 6 - 3 ) Dallas Cowboys - 7
The Cowboys were starting to look dominant. Then they went to Green Bay.

    10 8.194 ( 6 - 3 ) San Diego Chargers - 14
Ranked 20th just 2 weeks ago the Chargers make it to the top 10 with back to back victories against the Giants and Eagles. The AFC West is on the line in Denver on Sunday.

    11 8.017 ( 5 - 4 ) Baltimore Ravens - 12
    12 7.294 ( 5 - 4 ) Houston Texans - 11
    13 6.917 ( 5 - 4 ) Atlanta Falcons - 10
    14 6.050 ( 5 - 4 ) Green Bay Packers - 20
    15 5.750 ( 5 - 4 ) Philadelphia Eagles - 13
    16 5.328 ( 5 - 4 ) New York Giants - 15
    17 4.806 ( 5 - 4 ) Jacksonville Jaguars - 21
    *18 4.494 ( 4 - 5 ) Carolina Panthers - 22
    *19 4.417 ( 4 - 5 ) Miami Dolphins - 18
After week 10 the Dolphins slipped one spot, despite winning, since their earlier opponents went a combined 3-5 causing them some points. Thursday's victory will surely move the Dolphins up the rankings into the top half of the league.

    20 3.217 ( 4 - 5 ) New York Jets - 17
    21 3.050 ( 4 - 5 ) San Francisco 49ers - 19
    22 2.883 ( 4 - 5 ) Chicago Bears - 16
    23 2.139 ( 3 - 6 ) Tennessee Titans - 25
    24 0.417 ( 3 - 6 ) Seattle Seahawks - 24
    25 -0.028 ( 3 - 6 ) Buffalo Bills - 23
    26 -1.061 ( 3 - 6 ) Washington Redskins - 29
    27 -1.750 ( 2 - 7 ) Oakland Raiders - 26
    28 -2.083 ( 2 - 7 ) Kansas City Chiefs - 28
    29 -3.361 ( 1 - 8 ) St. Louis Rams - 31
    30 -3.639 ( 1 - 8 ) Cleveland Browns - 27
    31 -4.472 ( 1 - 8 ) Detroit Lions - 30
    32 -4.528 ( 1 - 8 ) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 32

Crazy how easy the schedule for the Redskins has been and how awful a team they have been. Minus the impressive effort against the Broncos last week anyway. They really screwed up at head coach, IMO.

For my money, they were the worst team in the league, by far. They were playing poorly against the worst teams in the league. I don't know what to make of that game last week though.

Nice work His'n. I actually agree with where most of these folks are falling. Particularly the Top 5.
