My roommates and I just witnessed a strange phenomenon. For about ten minutes it rained in a spot of about 50 square feet. The sky was a bit hazy but there weren't any clouds.
Well, when it does rain in Southern Arizona (which isn't very often) it is usually like that. It was interesting to sit on a high bluff and watch it rain on select neighborhoods
Yeah, I've seen something similar. One time I sat about 70 feet from the edge of a torrential rain from a summer thunderstorm. It lasted a two or three minutes then quit. Never came any closer. Was definitely cloudy though.
I've had it where I was with someone driving under a bridge and right when we came out of the other side of it (short distance) it wasn't raining anymore. Weird.
Awesome mike. I've been rained on from a cloudless sky before. The small cloud turned entirely into rain (condensed) and then fell. .. it was "white" rain. I watched the whole thing, even better, I understood what was going on. This happened near Brooksville Florida.
