I think that if anybody had come in saying SB after this weekend's win he would have been criticized for having unreasonable expectations. However, I haven't seen SB mentioned anywhere but in this thread.
Ill agree the super bowl talk was a bit of hyperbole. But I think his general point about expectations could still hold true.
I've never seen anyone mention the superbowl, or mention a 9 game winning streak of any sorts. All ive seen are people pumped up that we killed the pats, people excited that it seems this team is really starting to come together and really starting to like, and respect coach sparano. Maybe im going crazy...
You're right about the team needing the fans behind them. I can't be there in body but I'll be there for sure. The bottom line is that we've developed these Debbie Downers because of 10 yrs of crap from the team. Many to most of fans don't really think bad of the team, but we've had our hopes up before and recently only to be let down...again... The reason for the Debbie Downers is because of what the team has not done for 10 yrs... Hopefully that is behind us, but we'll see...
My feeling is to be hyped and enjoy the win until next Sunday night. Monday its back to buisness and reality.
I dont know how off the mark that possibility was before the season. We have a cake schedule after San Diego. If we had beaten the Jesters we would be 2-1 right now. Ripping off 8 wins may not be probable but its certainly possible considering the competition we face. Before the season I said we would fall somewhere between 6 and 10 wins depending on how the football bounced, luck, how quickly we gelled and injuries. I see no reason to change my views
I stand by my early thoughts that 5-7 wins is doable but BUT with some real key breaks they could pull off 8-10. I don't think it's probable or likely but I guarantee stranger s**t has happened in this league. I would be very surprised though if they dind't land in the 5-11 7-9 range as they are right now.
