http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports...ecapture-miami-dolphins-starting-1076550.html Memo to dolfans.. It happens, as Beurlien states, this happened to nearly every Qb at one time or another, save for the high draft picks who come in and have instant success.
This is why I didn't buy the 'It's going to shatter his confidence and ruin his development' school of thought. QBs have to be mentally tough. I was pleasantly surprised at the way he played when he came back so soon against Tennessee.
I thought so as well, to me that was the best he has played since his 4 game stretch in 09 when he had just become the Starting Qb, he was aggressive with his throws down the field and more crisp in his decision making. My only concern is the Titans were not playing Cover 2, so Henne was more comfortable making his reads and throwing the ball, when he runs into a team that plays Zone well, that is the real test imho.
we can only hope Henne emerges the Franchise QB in the Raider game. we need to win games. it really is all about winning games
It happens to the Steve Beurliens of the NFL. If Chad Henne is Steve Beurlien, we need to draft another QB.
Cover 2 is a tough D to throw into. If the QB can't make a throw into Cover 2, it's because of playcalling. When playing against a Man coverage or cover 3, you have chances to make plays especially if you have superior players in man. The only way to beat Cover 2 is with a running game, the right playcalling, or Michael Vick.
So what you are saying is Henne is fine now. He gets benched then injured and this was good for him? You have decided already this will have no long term affect on him. Look the benching experiment was a stupid coaching move plain and simple. The only spark that was provided in the Tenn game was when all of a sudden we marched the WC onto the field and started running the ball. I'm real happy that you are glad the benching experiment took place. That is exactly what I would expect from someone who knows very little about the game of football.
Or because you're quarterback doesn't have the patience to sustain the long drive and force passes OR because your quarterback doesn't have the touch to make certain passes that are required of him.
Nonsense, poor wittle Henne, how evar wll he wecover? He had his best 2 qtrs of football in weeks in the Titans game after having his *** sat on the bench, if that is what it takes then by all means, ride the pine Mr Henne, this is a big boy game.
Then bench him every week and bring him in middle 1st quarter. sorry man it is a stupid concept. Even a Henne hater like yourself should be smart enough to see that
As Beurlein pointed out every Qb bascially goes through the same thing, if you are not getting it done sooner or later the coach will and should sit the Qb, Henne is a big boy, if we wanted a China Doll we could have traded for Vince Young.
The hook came way too quick in a situation that Henne took the fall for. We should have ran the ball more in the Baltimore game to take the heat off the young QB but Henning isn't smart enough these days to realize it. Henning is the problem not the young QB. He is responsible for destroying our season. I would think you would be smart enough to see that too but your hatred for our QB clouds your vision.
PFFFT! Another opinion trying to dupe us with this "player development" crap. It's just a weak excuse!
So the benching caused his injury? I'm not sure what the injury has to do with anything. Everybody here already knows you're the only one who really knows football. The rest of us just try really hard to soak in all of your knowledge.
