I GIVE UP........HENNE IS NOT AN NFL QB. I dont care if ANYONE ELSE understands the IT factor, but HENNE DOES NOT Have it. He does not have a freakin CLUE. I GIVE UP
Has to stick that throw to BLine, Henne is still a work in progress but you can see the guy can play Qb in the NFL.
Are you kidding me? How in the hell do you figure that? The guy had almost zero time to throw, WR's dropped balls all oer, including a TD to Marshall that was well thrown, and Carpenter missed an easy FG and had one blocked. That's 13 points and pretty much the win right there. Then if you want to get picky, if Marshall doesn't stop running his route on a play in the redzone later we probably get another 7. GTFO of here with that crap. Henne's numbers today look poor, yes, but they dont even come close to telling the story of how he played.
Didn't you get the memo? Henne is to blame for everything? I mean if he was 7 feet tall he wouldn't have had all the balls blocked from the nonstop pressure the Texans were creating... Henne is the problem. If he was an elite QB he woud have worn stilts.
It seems Henne's numbers only tell the true story of how he played when they're good. I'm not going to say he had a bad game but he certainly wasn't as good as he was last week. On that pick he threw it looked like he thought he could throw it through Mario Williams' head or something.
No excuses. We just use reason and don't mind going through what's actually bad, what's actually good in the team. Mario Williams head? He has a split second decision to try to get rid of the football at his 2 yard line. The ball is out, there's a good chance he's sacked. Williams gets to the ball because Colombo sucks and Henne's got an interception. His fault? **** no.
I don't know if there's ever ONE reason a team loses games. There are usually a whole sh-t ton of reasons the team is not winning games. Everyone could be better. Pick the top player on the entire roster, go from top to bottom, every single guy, and there hasn't been one guy that you can look at over the last two weeks and say "That guy's been very good for an NFL starter". If Chad Henne is this season's bright spot so far, it's a testament to how bad the season is shaping up.
He merely said 'Henne took a step back', implying his game this week wasn't as good as last week's [fact], and was practically cursed out for it. Sounds reasonable.
Henne is a Phil Simms type QB. He looks like a guy growing into the position at the NFL level and that is promising. We can win with him. I'd be looking pass rushing linebacker or enforcer type of MLB as areas of greatest need.
I would give you the same advice. Watch the game and see that Henne was just not that good today - decent - but not good.
Henne tried to throw it through his head, that's how it's on him. Are you telling me that Chad Henne couldn't see that Mario Williams was standing between him and his intended receiver only a few feet away? Mario Williams was already in front of Henne when Henne wound up and threw the ball.
Seriously? did you catch the game? Henne's arm was hit on the throw due to poor blocking by Colombo. He got that ball out on time, colombo just flat out got blown up. The pass ends up a fluttering ball that ended up as an INT... How exactly is that his fault? I guess his arm isn't able to go through another guys arm without affecting his throws now too huh? Interesting... Another new thing to look for in a QB in the draft process. Invisible arms. Alright.
His arm... was hit as he threw... leading to a bad, wobbling pass... it was in no way shape or form thrown directly to Williams... jeez... unbelievable.. Williams didn't even make the INT... he's the one that beat colombo and hit henne's arm if i remember correctly...
It is a machine. The "if you dare to criticize you are a hateful evil terrible person" people just continue to pound the excuse machine.
I wont dispute he wasnt as "good" as last week. It was obvious, but he's still light years beyond last year at this point which is a good thing. He had a few badd passes today that I recall, one too low to gates on a slant, a miss to Mastrud (i think) early. Batted balls at the line IMO are the qb and the ol's problem IMO. The OL needs to do a better job blocking, and keeping the DL's arms tied up/down. The drops were insane today. Marshall had two that I recall, Bess one as well, and I think Hartline too. Henne made quite a few nice plays again today, with his feet, and his arm over the middle. To say he wasn't good today is not right at all. Sure he didnt throw for 400 and some yards again, but he's not the reason we lost today, and he's not the reason were 0-2, and he's way beyond his performance from last year. So, to get on him at this point is ridiculous IMO.
That was a good way to put it, Henne was average today, to me the Browns game will say a lot one way or another.
The point is that you said Williams was in front of Henne and tipped the ball with his head, when clearly, if you actually watched the game, Williams was BEHIND Henne and swatted Chad's hand as he was throwing.
I remember him deflecting a pass that led to an INT. I know he didn't make the pick. There were several batted passes, I could be remembering the wrong one. It's possible.
The Browns game isn't going to tell us anything we don't know. If we win it will be in a manner which isn't a surprise. If we lose the same will apply. This is a team with an average QB and an average head coach. Thats not a winning combination in the NFL. Put us in the pack of teams that need everything to be great around the QB, because the QB isn't good enough to overcome a bad OL and the HC isn't good enough to pull a rabbit out of his hat. Whats most mystifying to me is how they constructed the team to be more explosive but less efficient, and then they expect the defense not to be adversely affected. You can't have the identity of a tough defensive team while running our offense the way it has been run.
That is true, Henne had 3 tipped passes iirc, the int was not on him imo, but the bad Henne has gone 6-22 on 3rd down conversions.
Well I'm thinking of another batted pass play. There were several in the game. Amazing that people are saying Henne had an average game that was not as good as last week and people are coming in here like the cavalry to swat the idea down. I did watch the game by the way.
This is saying he wasn't as good as last week? That's what got this whole ball rolling. I just had to point out that you remembered incorrectly...
Disagree, think this is a team we should beat just on talent alone. The D, to me, looks out of shape, that is why Tate was running through arm tackles that they were making earlier in the game. I think DTrain's emergence is a huge development for Henne and am surprised that Bush has not been more effective on 3rd downs.
That's one dude. I haven't seen any other reactions like that. I used to be so into the game I'd never get plays mixed up like that. It's a shame the way this team has beaten me down. I wasn't even mad. Just disappointed.
The fact they're out of shape is ridiculous. That is terrible, flat out terrible. Part of the reason they won in 08 was that they were in great shape, worked very hard lifting etc. It's a shortened off-season but it's not like Miami got less time than everybody else.
No, they are supposed to be professionals and take care of their bodies, the Staff was barred from riding them to keep them in shape. This is one of the reasons why there are no easy answers to fix things, save for Reshad Jones being sat, and DBess dropped 2 passes..how does that happen?
