Are you sure? Me and the gf share a plan, two handsets, MMS unlimited text. 700 minutes, rollover etc. $80/month. I'm starting a business and am debating my wireless needs. Blackberry bold vs. iphone. And maybe a cricket data plan for my laptop if necessary. But that's another thread.
I would have to see the charging ports to know if i have a data that can work with it though Im not optimistic. If the motorola is a 2 prong charger we may have a shot but it also depends one whether the internal software will allow for picture files to be transferred via data cable. On a side note, it better be going to a Verizon phone or they would probably charge you $10.
The new software does wonders for the storm, so does deleting all the software you arent using (like VZ Nav if you wont use it). All that stuff slows it down tremendously but the hitch goes away with the new .75 version of Rim software instead of the original .65. The dare is sweet also if you like the touchscreen (which I personally dont which is why I went with the Env2). The browser on the dare is fine, and if you plan to use it a lot its worth it. Plus it also waives all the megabyte charges you get for games and ringtone downloads. As far as the ringtone downloads thing, I cant really say.
I'm not really up to speed on the touch screen phones but in my experience... 1. Spring has been HORRIBLE. I had US cellular and loved it. Despite being in a service area I hardly ever get reception, calls drop ALL of the time, and texts and voice messages disappear for hours before I reach it. I can't get a new phone well enough. 2. On phone brands: -Stay away from Motorola. In addition to their ridiculous business practices that rape their american workers (of which there are few left) their phones have been terrible. The stock battery is pathetic...i haven't had it for a year and i can't speak on it for more than 5 minutes without it getting a low battery signal despite charging ALL night, my screen cracked in the first week (i have no idea why) and the software locks up...often. I have no idea why razor's were so highly touted. -When I get a new phone I will most likely get an LG again. I've had two, lost one beat the other to hell and it kept going. It went through the wash 3 times and kept working, the battery was great..absolutely loved that phone. It took anything I threw at it and more. The software was sound, and my only complain was that it woudl go into hands free mode randomly (but I think that's been removed) while in my pocket. -I have the same worries about a touch screen as BG..i like the idea but am too chicken to take the leap. I really liked the Moto Q like he said. Used it for the 30 days just to try it and decided to drop the data plan because I was going back to school and wanted to save money (it was free for the first 30 days). I can't compare it to the iphone or black berry as I've never used them but i really liked that phone.
