well yea but like was originally said by someone else, a game like tyson was really hard the first time through. took me so long to figure out how to beat everyone. like playing through a game like ninja gaiden is fine now, because you know all the tricks, but it was still hard as hell at first
Here's an obscure one - Dragon Crystal for the Game Gear. Never could beat that game. It was my favorite game on the Game Gear though.
Along with Donkey Kong that you mentioned, I'll add the little one in Donkey Kong Jr. I'll so add in some Atari 2600 classics, ET and Indiana Jones. Mainly because you had no freaking clue what you were supposed to do.
oooooh...+1 for reminding me of a great game that I forgot about.... -1 for wasting money on a game gear
Honestly the hardest game I think I have ever played is Halo 3 on legendary with all the skulls on. No radar, you health doesn't regenerate unless you beat down an enemy, there is very little ammo, unless you are playing co op a death means you restart the level, and you have no heads up display of any kind. Meaning you don't even have sights. And thats not even all the effects. Me and a buddy finally beat the first level a while back but it took us 2 and a half hours.
Ninja Gaiden for the NES was impossible. It was TOO hard. Everytime you try to jump over a ledge or something a F***ing bird, bat, monster, ghost, flipping guy would knock you over into a bottomless bit.
It was impossible on the first try. It wasn't impossible. I beat that game. The final two levels are pretty hard. I felt like I played that game so much that I could play the first level blindfolded.
The trick to Ninja Gaiden was realizing that every enemy has a set spawn point in the level. Once you reach a certain point the game is going to spawn a monster. It's pre-programmed. If you blazed through the levels then you might have had some trouble, though it's worth noting that the time limit in each level was never really short enough to be worrisome: it was a trick to get the player to move full-speed, thus having to deal with rapid-spawning enemies. That was a classic NES trilogy.
Just because I come through in clutch situations nintendo8.com - play Nintendo 8-bit games online (no download required) There are 100 games on this list and some are mentioned in this thread
Easily the hardest console game of all time, the only one I could never complete when I was in my youth. Going back even further, Raid Over Moscow on the Amstrad CPC 464 was a real *****. You would use up most of your lives just trying to get the plane out the damn hanger.
Zombie Nation. That game is very, very hard. Probably the hardest game that exists where the main guy is big floating head that gets power by eating people who jumps out of buildings.
