hey happy cinco de mayo... lucky... and others! ask a mexican: what is cinco de mayo? http://www.latimes.com/theguide/events-and-festivals/la-gd-gustavo1-2008may01,0,3068911.story
it holds pretty big significance to the mexican people. I know this guy is just trying to be funny, but yeah, contrary to popular opinion its not just a reason to get drunk.
i was at digg.com and the article came up. i haven't even read the whole article just the little blurb there about generally what it is about. i figured it was pretty significant but didn't know why.
also: in the article he mentions to go to a taco truck. this sounds like heaven on earth, can you explain the concept?
he is saying if you want the true mexican experience, such as authentic food, go to the back of a taco truck, order a burrito, or tacos. Don't go to the "fast food" chains that sell mexican food. At least thats how I read it.
don't remember but its usually a big *** van with a side opening so they can sell their food, and a kitchen inside. Its greasy, it looks disgusting, but man its goooooooooooooooooooooooood.
Lucky is 15000000000% correct here. We've got those little taqueria trucks around town and the food is fantastic. I'm 6'1, 230 lbs, so when I go it's quite comical because I'm this huge Gringo standing around a bunch of small skinny dudes.
When I lived in San Antonio this guy use to come to my work and people said he had the best stuff they had ever tasted...a month later he was arrested for killing stray dogs and using them as meat. Hope you like your pero burrito.
that Gustavo guy is funny. he has answers to everything Mexican related. He shows up on a radio show i listen to every once in awhile
I'm having a Cinco de Mierda. One of the cats got sick and is gonna cost a fortune to heal. But yes, taco trucks are heaven on earth. Mmmm...carnitas.
i'd rather celebrate The Battle of San Jacinto. thats where sam houston caught up with santa ana after the alamo. the battle lasted only 18 minutes. killed em to the last man, except for santa ana. they needed his signature giving the texas territory to the U.S.
I understand they taste great...how could they not, when so many people eat them? I just don't think I could get past the texture thing. Although I do like sweetbreads, which a lot of folks don't.
