McGee I think has shown a little something to build on. He's not reading the field well enough but he's showing the ability to stand up and defend himself in a heavy exchange.

And of course the more he throws it to a tight end in Gibril Wilson's zone, the better.

That Michael Johnson dude looks like a beast. Got the "eye of the tiger" too. Freak athlete + the eye = big time play maker.

Michael Johnson has taken a lot of snaps tonight and he's still looking energetic. Sometimes these criticisms are on the mark, and sometimes they're overblown.

How is Carson Palmer wearing #9, and also playing on the field wearing #5?

Because somehow Carson convinced the Bengals to sign his no talent younger brother Jordan.

Jerome Simpson with the catch on the out. If he's cut, I wonder if Miami wouldn't even get a shot at him because of the waiver system.

Rickey Jackson was the focus of a NFL Digest story (pre internet, they wrote things on paper and mailed them..I know..stone ages)

The PFD reporter was running a story on Jax and they were in the Cafeteria, the food service worker gave Jackson the last piece of meat loaf.

The two have a seat, eat their lunch, and the writer asked him if he was going to eat the meatloaf, Jackson said:

"A competitor doesn't want the last of anything"

Eh. Michael Johnson may have good stats, he may run well, he may tackle well, and he may bring pressure. But he just doesn't pass my eye test...:shifty:

To me, imho I think the CFL's approach to Returns is better than the NFL's, no fair catches, but also a five yd catch bubble around the Returner.

That leads to more long Returns and is probably a bit more fun to watch.

    Strictly my .02

Gotta love Dick LeBeau. Read an interesting conversation that someone had a while back with him. They were asking him when he designs the zone blitzes, what does he do first? He said the first thing he teaches is the DB's.

I think we took Sean Smith over Johnson because Johnson may have become distracted by eating the tender shoots from the top of the palm trees that circle the practice field...

I mean he's in my top ten of young DE/LB hybrids but lists are irrelevant. I refuse to go based on what I think. I'm just some random guy. You can quote me all you want but this guy just doesn't pass my eye test.

That RAC ability is the only thing that's looked interesting to me about Matt Jones since being drafted. I was a big fan pre-draft, learned my lesson, but at the same time pure physical ability is such a safety net for draft players because it gives you the ability to find jobs for a guy.

With Jones's Qb background I thought he could be a Wildcat Asset, but he's never been used in that role.

So far he looks like the only Bengal Wr on the 2nd and 3rd units who is making plays.

I'd bring him here, teach him how to block with intensity and then play him.

Eh, not sure he fits what they do in Miami Alen, he is more of a Receiver and Henning rarely throws to the Te, he wouldn't beat Haynos as he is not a good blocker, he is not the all around Te Fasano is, and DMart should take care of our down the field needs from the Te position.

He is like a less versatile Philly Te Rucker.

    Woop Chase Coffman heckuva catch.

These Bengals WRs are impressing me. They get open and they catch the ball, and as Matt Jones showed they can even get you some RAC. But aside from Carson Palmer, there's nary a QB in Cincy that can properly show the guys off. Even Maurice Purify is getting open.

That's definitely a team to watch to see which WRs get cut, because I don't buy the Patrick Turner resurrection and I don't think he's versatile enough to be the #5 WR on roster anyway.

As I said, you teach him how to block. With a guy like that, you incorporate him into your pass game IMO.

Never understood why he lasted so long?

    Didn't have 44 reps of 225 and run a sub 5.0 40?

I'm sure you watched a ton of Elon tape but I did not have that luxury. He looked good breaking that Ghee tackle to get some RAC on that one catch. That other falling catch would have been overturned in the regular season though.
