I’ve been a Dolphin fan since they had the Dolphin doing flips behind the goalpost when they scored. The offense is so much fun when it’s working. It’s worked good and has been creative. It took many by surprise. It’s innovative. But they now have tape. Good teams adjust and we need to counterpunch. Run the ball more. Oline injuries is hampering this but our passing game really explodes when the run game is working. It’s the key. Achaine makes this work. He’s why McD was so excited when they drafted him. He knew. The offensive line has been a joke for a long time. And we get the right coach that can relate how guys learn, it’s a masterclass in leadership. We’re on our 3rd string, practice players and they may not produce that wow factor, but they’re holding their own. Against top level talent. Not enough credit from all the OLine sucks crowd. We’re winning. We’re in every game. We’re so close, not that fake I think we’re close but the I’ve seen we’re close,I got to believe Bolle (old school Twilight Zone reference). How people can’t see that, just blows me away. I always say when people ask me who’s my team “I’m a long suffering Dolphins Fan”. So I get we’ve been sold a hill of goods before. But this offense. And the defense when all the pieces now are in place makes me happy. We have studs and I just can’t understand how people just are militant that we suck. It’s disheartening. I love this team. Love the coach. He’s quirky. Like everyone. He has a humility that quite frankly we need a hell of a lot more of. And he’s not afraid to make fun of himself or stick up for the health of his players, all with a, I can hang out in your man cave with you kinda way. I study on leadership as much as I can on how organizations thrive. McD has a lot of really positive traits that it makes me have faith again in the team. Not the “we’re going to win it all” ****, but we have a direction and a coach that gets it and can hopefully get us there. He’s young and he’s had some success. So far how he deals with adversity, love the approach. Doesn’t get too high, doesn’t get too low and has humility. When he didn’t go for the scoring record because you don’t embarrass another team shows grace. Something that’s missing today. Tua is really good. We haven’t had really good in a long time. I don’t understand why everyone needs him to be the second coming, but I’m super happy to have a guy who is a leader and a really solid person. On and off the field. Seriously isn’t that what you want? We’re on the assent. It’s all we can hope for. You’re either going down, stagnate or going up. I see us as going up. Cheers my Dolphin brothers.
I'm having the most fun as a Dolphins fan in over 25 years. Wannstedt era I always worried about Fiedler, and sure enough our offense just couldn't produce when necessary in the playoffs. This team is built right, and with some luck can go all the way.
I think two things need to happen. First the offense needs to be tweaked for road games. The process of getting plays in, getting the motion right, and the precision of the timing are all negatively affected on the road. This needs to be addressed. Second, the OL is still not good enough. I long for an OL that can block 4 for as long as necessary. I am always jealous watching a QB just stand in the pocket for what seems like minutes when the other team only rushes 4. We have to get to the point where the other team must blitz to get pressure. Tua is great against the blitz. On the positive side, this HC seems like he adapts and develops answers. The defense is looking very very promising. The team is united. I think we are in store for a long and very good run.
So many fans lose site of the fact that this is entertainment. I don't like the losses but enjoy the wins and even the good performances that end in a loss. I don't bet on the games and my life is unaffected by the success of the Dolphins. I refuse to not enjoy the success they are having because some dolts think they are frauds....
Not arguing the point about the OL, but that is a common refrain throughout the league, with only a very few exceptions, and even the teams that are getting solid OL play suffer when starters go down with injuries. There is a distinct lack of talent at the position in the NFL that only keen drafting is going to fix. Unfortunately, despite some good qualities that have emerged in recent years, spotting OL talent remains as our GMs glaring weakness.
When you rewatch the games you can see that the national narratives are once again BS Not physical, finesse..BS Team is very close to playing complimentary football. Defense is ready to take off and out to rest our early concerns Offense needs to figure out how to execute and communicate when the road crowd is at an apex I also think because of our reputation this season we’re getting every teams best show, especially when we’re on the road We run a sophisticated offense with a high level Qb who can match the scheme with his traits. All levels of the defense are very active and playing well. We have hi level pass rushers we have great interior players, David long is as advertised, great corners and quality safety play. Offense now has two weeks to iron out some communication stuff and have a solid plan when those things arise. Gonna have to match the raiders intensity coming off our bye.. The 2nd half defense looked like a well oiled big physical orchestra against the best Qb in the game.
Who has said the team really sucks? I'm like you find this team completely refreshing compared to many in the past. I do believe they can beat any team in the league and get more frustrated when the play bad like the KC game. The more people actually do care, the more they get upset when the team loses or plays bad.
I think the biggest story of the second half, from a fan standpoint and not the media, is not going to be Tua, not Tyreek, not McDaniel but Fangio and the defense.
We‘re good enough to win it all, it all comes down to how healthy we are come playoff time. If we lose anymore o-linemen it’s going to be a short trip. If we get to the playoffs healthy we can play with anyone. Like @TheHighExhaulted posted earlier it’s nice to see that Vangios D has arrived. This season could be special! We just need to stay healthy and McDaniel has to evolve a little bit more, he’s been struggling like the team against good opponents.
I think it's probably the national media "fraud" narrative that is the current flavor of the hour. Once they beat a team then it will be back to the greatest offence ever until the next bump. When I care I find myself watching more national media because I am looking for news. The hivemind is real. I care more when it's fun, and winning is more fun. To the topic: 6-3, first in the east, with 5 very winnable games in a row coming. Then the first home game for a tough opponent this season. Team on much needed bye. Fun season.
