tough decision but it was the contract and age that got me.We can bring Dez in and teach him out **** but I do worry about him and I believe Marshall is ready to play. I dont think he would be a problem with us
Bryant. Younger, just as physically capable, should be at least as good as Marshall and get to that level of production within a shorter span of time. Plus he has no arrest record.
I hear the FO is pursuing every Dolphin's fan to answer as aggressively as the Census was pushed this year. Vote or risk losing your Dolphins fan card, and state representatives. Wait, maybe only the former.
By less risk I mean less risk of breaking our bank with a record conflict and then continually getting into trouble where he grew up as a trouble maker.
very confused on the results the poll is showing common sense would think that we'd all want a proven WR, instead of someone we've never seen play against the pros
Substitute many other top wideouts and you are absolutely correct. Marshall is a somewhat different animal though. Proven yes. But he wont be producing if he gets suspended by the league. Some are also taking into account the fact that Bryant would cost a considerably less amount of cash than Marshall. Assuming we would even want to resign him.
What does that tell you about this forum? People here over-analyze everything and some even act if is they are gurus who have built multiple dynasties yet they never even put on pads at any level. Also, a lot of people get way too caught up with numbers and stats.
I would like to think that Bryant would be as good as Marshall. But get to that level in a shorter period of time, to borrow a qoute...Not so fast! Dont forget how young Marshall is, 26 I think, but he is a top 4 WR just behind Reggie Wayne. And Bryant being comparable to that sooner is a BOLD statement.
Depends on what pick compensation is required for Marshall. If we can get him for our 2nd and maybe other considerations, save our first rounder to get that OLB or S....... we come out of this draft with some impact players. His talent is worth our #12 but the Broncos are losing leverage on a daily basis....teams are collectively holding out to see if the price drops. At this point they may have to settle for less than a 1st rounder. Given Marshall's past and the cost for the new contract he'd want, I'd go with Bryant before I'd give up the #12 for him. Personally, I think Bryant could be just as good.... like Marshall, Dez is a monster out on the field. And I really don't see that changing when he gets to the NFL. That kid is gonna score TD's for somebody.....
It seems that history will tell us that trading for wide receivers usually doesn't work out the greatest. Marshall has a history with the law and proven by last season, can be very detrimental to the team. I think Bryant brings less internal issues to the team with a lot of potential... a lot cheaper too. I say Bryant. While many say "but but but Marshall is proven," but I remind you... he has proven himself in Denver, not Miami... nothing is a guarantee in this league so it's debatable if he'll be successful here. I can understand either side of the story though.
Spinning back kick to your balls, karate chop to the neck, Vulcan death grip and I step over your still twitching corpse to welcome Earl Thomas to the Dolphins.
If there's a gun to my head it's obvious that I haven't made good choices in life so what would make this one any better? In the spirit of the thread, tell my wife and kid I love them, make it a clean kill and take Marshall.
If someone put a gun to my head and forced me to choose bewtween Marshall and Bryant...well, first, I would put a 45 slug through their liver and as I called 911 I would choose Bryant.
