Its a pretty good game but it was seriously overhyped. Whats with the game getting near perfect scores? Mind you I enjoy the game quite a bit but there are things that bug me. *Auto Aim. Seriously WHY!?!? I don't understand this at all. IF there is a way to get rid of Auto-aim due to tell because its annoying as ****. *Voice acting. The conversations in the game are awful. IMO Nikkos VA is the worst. *Car Storing. Now I'm not super far in the game but please tell me there is a garage to store cars..... I really hate fitting cars I like in a 15X4 yellow rectangle. *Save System. God do I hate it. If I want to quit I have to drive my happy *** to my safe house or pick off my last auto save. There I found imperfections with the game I'm sure there is more. I do enjoy the freedom to the game and the story.
Options menu. You're in the minority on this. I'm sure eventually we get one. I just got the second safehouse, and it still has the yellow parking zone. Pretty sure you can save in the options menu. Don't know for sure, because I'm satisfied with the auto saving.
I used a Taxi to get around all the time. Much faster. Later in the game I started collecting cars and using them more often.
Its a pain in the *** isnt it? You know I think I'll take a taxi when I'm done playing but nothing beats hitting pedestrians in slow mo at full speed.
LOL you're about 5 weeks late on your review review...err complaints. Is anyone still playing this game? I agree it's definitely not a perfect game, not nearly worthy the rating it got. I got tired of this game quickly. I haven't even turned it on since I finished the story mode. There are still a bunch of side missions I need to complete, but I just don't find myself interested enough to go through them. I'd rather pop in Madden 08 or COD4 instead. I don't think I'll play this again unless I'm asked to play multiplayer mode.
they can be pretty fun for a little while. Cops and robbers gets old pretty quick, but its fun at first. I like Team Mafiya the best.
i enjoyed the racing w/ weapons....i would just get out and run around and try to shoot other drivers the fun wore off though
I too haven't played since I beat it. IGN raved about the online multiplayer, saying something about it being as good as COD4. It sucks... No lobby is one of my biggest problems as well as game modes that get old quick. Plus there is no one on there. GTA races with 10 people is great. GTA races with 4 ppl sucks. Loved the game, but no replay value. Wish I'd rented it instead. Would of saved 50+ bucks and got all the enjoyment out of it just the same.
You are all crazy. The game is perfect and anyone who doesn't agree is stupid and a jerk! I hate the auto aim too...
another complaint. i'm playing with over 450,000 dollars and nothing to spend it on. am i missing something? are there things i can buy in the game besides clothes and guns?
Yeah atleast with SR you can buy cars... You know what I enjoy Saints Row more than GTA. The only thing GTA does better is its a bit more realistic and a better storyline. Yeah laugh but Saints Row in my eyes is a funner game.
i loved this game. the missions were a blast, tons of in-game content. solid story-line. but it was weird that you really couldnt do much with the money you got. and no i dont think you ever get a garage. at least i dont recall getting one. but i cant wait for the new missions to come out for 360 in a few months.
I thought it was really overrated maybe all the hype and high scores made my expectations to high but after beating the main storyline (where the missions got very repetitive) I turned it on maybe once or twice and was then done with it.
Honestly it amazes me that we have gotten to the point in gaming where a game is overrated because after you beat it, the game is repetitive. I just remember 15 years ago where they answer would be, "Beat it again."
I loved the NES days. I try not to be a fanboy for any system because it is all about the games. The fact is.....the NES had a major % of good games then and I played them over and over.
The game was already repetitive before I beat it but I was already close to finsihing it so I finished it. I just didn't think it was that great I enjoyed GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas much more. I played those three games months after I beat them doing side missions and screwing around.
I'm going to keep playing even after I beat it, I want to find all those damn rats with wings, and the jumps and stuff too.
Those rats with wings are tough to find. I'm about 2/3 through and I've stumbled across a grand total of 4. I've also only found 1 jump.
I only found one rat, and it was by luck because I took a motorcycle on the sidewalk on a bridge. I have found like 5 or 6 jumps though.
a great game is a game that you will enjoy playing the story mode multiple times. I have played the COD4 and Gears of War single player mode each at least 3 or 4 times. I can easily and honestly say that I will NEVER, EVER want to play the whole stpry mode of GTA4 again.
i gotta agree here. and these days, for me, any non-sports game is like a movie. i want to get into it, invest some time, have fun, then go on to the next story. those 20+ hour games are too much for me. and a game like gears, that i beat in 4 or 5 hours, i still havent played it again. i lived that story, on to the next one...and i'll revisit the gears brand when a sequel comes out. shelf life or re-playability in a story-style game just isnt a big deal for me when theres so much else out there.
That is fine (and your opinion), but there are plenty of games that I have played multiple times (which I call great games) which are very repetitive. I haven't beaten it yet, but I consider Oblivion to be a great game, yet after I beat it I doubt I will play story mode all over again.
yeah I guess I should amend that statement. There are other great games that I do not have to play the story mode all over again, but any game where I would want to do it all over again would certainly be great IMO. Of course alot of great games are very repetitive. Most games are.
Beat the game and obtained both endings last night. I prefer the scenario that plays out if you don't do the deal. It feels more appropriate.
