Hi all, I am really impressed with your site, and the lack of immature posts. (at least from what I have seen so far) I don't post a lot on the KC forums, and only a newbie Chiefs fan. I was born and raised a Bears fan.. still am , but I knew a lot more about the Chiefs now since I have been following them. Let me explain... I started following the Chiefs when, last year, they plicked Tyler Thigpen from the Vikings when they tried to 'sneak' him through waivers. Why Thigpen?? I have been a faculty member of Coastal Carolina University since 1988, fought for years for the school to start a football program. Finally, seven years ago, we hired a coach, recruited some players, and the program began. That first year, there were no games, only practice and scrimmages. Every Saturday, there were a few of us local HS football referees that would go out and work the scrimmages. I remember the first time I noticed Tyler Thigpen, because he would be plalying at TE, then the next series at QB. I asked one of the coaches who he was and he told me his name. He was recruited at an "athlete" because his senior year in HS he played TE after being the QB in his earlier years. The head coach, David Bennet said, "He is a team player, he will do whatever it takes to win for the team"... As it turned out, he became the QB for CCU, played for 4 years and had a winning record every year. When he got drafted by the Vikings in the 7th round, he was the first player ever drafted in the CCU program. I watched that young man for five years and truly thought that he had what it would take to make it in Pro ball, given the chance. Now, I sit at a sports bar every Sunday to watch the Chiefs, since they are almost NEVER on local channels here in Myrtle Beach. Someone earlier mentioned about the Dolphins being the only team to have a perfect season, but I also remember that they were the team that ruined my Bears from having a perfect season.. LOL Sunday afternoon, I will give a toast to all of you PhinsFans that are going to Arrowhead. Remember, I will be sitting in a warm bar, with much cheaper beer!!!! Good luck, and as all have said, let us pray for an injury free game.
Welcome. Phins and Chiefs have had some really good matchups the last few seasons. I suspect this one to be equal. QBs that are mobile concern me. I like what I have watched from Thigpen. Bowe has huge potential as well, and Tony G. is a monster. Great memory!!! Always...cheers!
Hello, and welcome to our home. Loved your post. I, too, remember the Chicago game and loved it, of course. I had friends from Chicago living here in Ga and i just had to go after the game that night and brag. They were not happy, but I sure was!!! Enjoy it here, it's the best site ever. Good luck Sunday, but here's to a Dolphin W.
Enjoyed your post .Quite a story and you were an important part of it. Pull out a chair and feel comfortable. We pride ourselves in keeping a friendly atmosphere. Respect for others opinions is what we look for
Very very good to have you. The quality of our site is comprised of a couple of things. First the incredible staff and contributors. Second the quality of people that spend time in here. I think that you have just added to the second thing Windwalker. Very good to have you and lets hope for a nice close physical game come Sunday.
Hey, Nice intro. The site is made up of Joomla! and Vbulletin if I remember correctly. The front page is definitely Joomla!, though. Glad to have you here. I hope you have an injury free game and .. well, the Chiefs lose. I'm not gonna sugar coat it.
Welcome Windwalker. Nice story you had. Like others stated, this place is the best and we welcome you to stay as long as you want. We have a few fans of other teams floating around so you woulnt be the lone non-Phin fan here. Should be a good game Sunday, hopefully culminating in a Dolphin win
On the bright side, he doesnt have the scarey red guy in his signature Hey, you could lie down in the endzone and fix that one snickers commercial.. you know, "Thats nice, but who are the Chefs?" "Great Googely Moogely".... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2U_EfE-mqgE]YouTube - Snickers Chefs[/ame]
Hello a form a fellow South Carolinian. I can tell you that this site is awesome even if you are a fan of another team. I hope for a good injury free game as well. Also I could stand on my front porch and hit Coastal's field with a rock.
that is one of my favorite commercials ever!! As far as the handsome Red guy in the sig, I have more pictures of him!!
Welcome to the site! Your team is definitely playing better as the season goes on. I like to call this site a Microcosm of the best posters of any other message board. The best phins site on the net.
