coming back from missouri i hit a patch of black ice and spun into the cement wall on the bridge. couldn't see it because it was covered with snow. totalled the sucker. thats the second diesel i've had scrapped out. those trucks are so heavy, when they start sliding they don't slow down or change direction. fortunately nobody was hurt and i didn't hit anybody else. got a 6.0 silverado, its a 3/4 4x4 and this time i went with gas.
THANKS! this time i went with 4 wheel drive the other 2 tucks had 2 wheel and i get getting stuck in the yard they were so heavy.
Great truck!!! Im still rocking my first car, 2002 Ford Explorer. Now is the time to Buy cars in this struggling economy. Also if you can buy stock and real estate go for it!! A lot of people get rich from down economic years, unfortunately you also have to have money to make money in times like this...
my wife had a few bruised ribs from the seat belt, other than that and dirty underwear everything is cool. we did a 360 degree turn on the James River freeway. kinda scares the crap outta ya when you're going down the freeway 60 MPH, BACKWARDS. fortunately it kept spinning and i ended up on the shoulder. no sheet metal damage at all, but the insurance company said the frame was bent and it would be $14000 to replace the front end and strip it down to get to the frame. think i'm gonna get gap insurance, that way what ever the truck is valued at, the insurance has to pick up the difference on a new truck. we paid $35000 for that truck in 2004 and it was only blue booked at $11700.
