Nice, I kind of like it. Not alot of clutter, seems to be faster. I might stick with Firefox though until this is out of beta... but so far so good. I'll keep using it today and see how it goes. Thanks!

Edit: uh oh... I just noticed that I cant click on my scroll wheel, and have the ability to "slide" right up the page instantly... Thats a bit annoying since its something i do quite often.. oh well.

yeah it is fast. very impressed so far. it automatically imported my firefox settings. one thing is that the hyperlinked keywords while viewing a thread page are not showing up for me.

i like the layout and its very fast. if it ends up doing what the comic says it does it will probably overtake firefox as the best browser.

It does seem pretty fast. Very minimalist layout, which I like. Also very cool how it transported all my bookmarks/saved passwords from Firefox. Thx for the info Celt

Thanks Celt. Its really fast, almost too fast when scrolling. Very basic. The tags to the right of the threads don't appear though.

i like it! Very light weight, and very stylish (even if it is a cleaned up version of Firefox3). My only issue with it, is the inability to scroll up with my touch pad thingy on my laptop. Scrolling down works... But not up. Go figure.

another thing that is missing is that there is no search bar to the right of the address bar. i went through and selected some search engines, but im not sure how to even use them in the way i use firefox.

    anyone?

type whatever your googling into the address bar. just don't put .com or anything.

or if you want to change search engines, click on the wrench, go to options, click manage default search, and then add whatever search engine it is you want.

Google wins the Redundant Product of the Year Award. We need this like we need iCab, Netscape, and K-Meleon.

Stick to web services, Google. You're better at it.

oh ok. i bet this is only for the beta. it really should be just like firefox where you can click the arrow and find the engine you want.

as it is now, if i wanted to search something on wikipedia, it would just be quicker to search "wikipedia" in the address bar, click on wikipedia and then search what i want in the wikipedia site....so there is no advantage

if you have the same google toolbar that i have(which is the one you're describing), it imports over to google chrome and all you need to do is go to that same options page i said before, see where it says google and click the arrow and all the search engines you have previously should be there.

I don't see the point. It's better than Internet Explorer, but I'd use Lynx over Internet Explorer. It's not better than Firefox, Safari, or Opera. It doesn't fill a niche, but instead duplicates functions. There's just no point to it.

I suspect that Google released this so they could further track their users' browsing habits to improve advertising revenue.

Safari's had Private Mode for years, Firefox has privacy add-ons, IE8 Beta 2 has similar features. Again, duplication of features without creation of a new niche.

I like it so far. Its fast, scrolls really fast for sure. I don't like how I can't use the scroll button on my mouse though. I can't click it but I can move up and down. Its very basic and plain which is something I'm not used to after looking at Firefox for a while. One thing I wish it had is the FastDial that Firefox has. FastDial gives you ten tabs as your home page and you insert URL's into the tabs, making it a quick and easy access to the websites. On Google Chrome, they have something similar but its history and they keep like four tabs. I'm not a big fan of that right now. I'll get used to it though. Btw, it bothers me the heck out of me that I can't bold a word on here with the keyboard. I have to use the mouse.

It keeps freezing for me. Not sure what the problem is but when I try to switch windows or click on a link it takes 5 seconds or so doing nothing, then wakes up and does what I tell it to lol.

not getting that. all chrome has is the address bar. the separate bar that would normally be to the right of the address bar is no longer there if that was what you were saying

i click tools, options and then manage. i removed the one i didnt want.

i search a random word in the address bar, arrow down and it only shows google as an option and the second engine i listed, in this case its wikipedia. it doesnt show all the other engines i selected, if that is what you meant

not sure what i am doing wrong here lol

I think you type your search directly into the main address bar. Just dont put .com at the end of the search and it brings up the google search for whatever you typed in.

yeah i got that. i thought i could type in a word and then search that word in any of the engines i have

in firefox for example, i go to the toolbar to the right of the address bar. if i want to search batman in imdb or youtube or whatever, i click a little arrow in that toolbar and it shows me the engines i had chose

i think you can type that same thing in the address bar, such as

    imbd: batman

and it would be the same thing

hmm, when i click arrow down it shows me all the options i had in forefox. In any case type for example American Revolution site:wikipedia.org into the adress bar, does the same thing.

I'm liking it a lot as well. If/when people start making add-ons for it i'll probably start using it more than firefox, as it is right now the add-ons for firefox put it ahead of chrome.
