please... i've lowered a lot on some guys... I started off asking for a third for Ricky, settled for a fourth... i've dropped on Gibril and Bell...
He was never on the block. A couple GM's inquired about him and I said, if you want him, you're going to have to pay higher than you want because he's my starting quarterback. I'm not going to give you my starting quarterback for a fourth round pick. Its' why his price tag is a second to third rounder. I never had any plans to move him and I won't unless a GM wants to pay a second round pick. When someone offers me that, I'll consider it.
btw alen... your trade block is more of a who is not available.. you have a not available listing and a core player leasting... neither of which includes the name Matt Hasselback.
don't blame me on the Bess thing... btw, he is not on the block... that was all Gish's fault last year... he paid a 2nd before Bess' had another great year.
Im not blaming you, just saying, a good qb, even one slightly older like Hasselbeck, is still a heck of a lot more valuable then a decent WR who while I like him isnt really a game changing player.
again, bess is not on the block... so if you ask me about a player that's not on the block, be prepared to see a higher value than what you are expecting. He's obvously worth more to me than he is to other people... same goes for Cameron Wake.
I understand your philosophy because mine is similar. I just dont necessarily agree with some of the asking prices, but I guess thats my problem more then yours lol. Im not pickin at you bud, just saying Matty is still a pretty damn good QB for Seattle.
IS he or is he not still a good QB? Just keep the guy upright and give him some players to throw to and Im sure he could still get it done
We should have a thread to post gripes about people's asking prices for certain players... sort of a joke thread.
I don't know that he is... his QBR the last two years (58 and 75) coupled with his injuries, coupled with his cap number here.... well you get where I'm going hopefully.
Hey, that trade opened it up for me to get Woodley for a 2nd and then Roddy White in exchange for Joey Porter (essentially). So don't knock the crack.
He was never up for trade. I did, however, post that if someone wanted him, they would have to pay a second/third round pick.
I dont know if thats such a great idea. I cant see how that will make trade talks more productive plus I am SURE you will be on there...not from me by the way
Im not knocking it; im all for distributing it to the other GM's so i can take their players By the way... its a stitches sighting!
You're looking too much into statistics IMO. I'm not going to sit here and be biased because he's my quarterback but I will say that if you watched Seattle last year at all, you know that his statistics are a bit misleading. The offensive line was pretty damn bad and 26th in rushing.
I welcome the challenge of defending my prices... been doing it for the last week...and yet i've still made nine trades... must be doing something right.
This isn't rocket science. He's not on the block, never was. I put the price tag on him because there were GM's who sent me a message asking his price. I put it out there because I didn't want to keep receiving messages about a guy I was not looking to move. However, if you were willing to match the high price tag I set, then he could be yours. Again,I was not looking to move him.
No, it was not. You sent me a message saying if I would accept a second rounder if you got one. I said possibly because he would be the leader of my team and was my starting quarterback. Then you followed it up by saying we had the same idea or something like that and that you would get back to me. I later sent you a PM with an offer to see what you would say. You said no and that was it.
