Odd, so what does "SD uses ST for development the same as we do" mean?

ST IS used for developmental purposes, as that is how the UDFa's and late round picks prove themselves, as once again, we will never have the mtn of picks the pasties have, HOWEVER players only make that jump after they have proven themselves in practices these guys are not just churned up then inserted unto the ST unit, which is what Mike B, Omar and Volin have said.

I commented on one of their articles that claimed Roster Churn was the culprit.

It means exactly that. They construct their roster based on the players they’d like to keep based on offensive or defensive needs, and then the guys at the bottom of the roster go out and play special teams. They don’t keep guys who only play special teams (besides the obvious punter, kicker, and long snapper).

It’s the same approach we have. Our depth sticks because the coaching staff likes their ability to play on offense or defense, and then they’re trotted out on special teams regardless of prior experience or aptitude.

It's amazing how any kicker kicks it out of bounds on kickoffs.

What bothers me about the Cowpokes is..no one seems to care very much, Romo has a tipped int that goes for a TD and "eh" oh well.

They remind of the Cowpokes when Danny White was the Qb..

Good to see Mariani and Verner come up with big plays. Mariani was decent at Montana too. Loved Verner at UCLA.

    I'm cheering the Raiders because:

    -AJ smith is a wanker

-the better the raiders do, the worse the #1 pick the Pasties wind up with.

I just saw the route and catch on replay from Anthony Armstrong. That Karl Dorrell can't coach WRs.

his ball got tipped because he has zero athleticism and 0 arm delivery variations, he's lead the most overrated football team in the past 5 6 years....and when the game gets more important, the more suffucated he becomes.

    He's pretty mobile I'd say.

What do you mean by 0 arm delivery variatons? You don't want want several different releases.

"Run the real WCO" - Collinsworth in pre-game. The real or pure WCO hasn't been ran since Holmgren was coaching the Seahawks.

Coincidentally, that’s probably the last time Collinsworth had something of value to offer as a commentator.

what I mean is if he doesn't have the space to step up and make his delivery, he cant get any pace on the ball..his lack of flexibility in his upper body and shoulder, constricts his delivery...some QB's can change their variation on the their release, rivers cannot, nor can he get the ball off accurately, and with enough velocity, when he's in traffic..just poor arm athleticism.

Alen, iam only criticizing him based on the perception of his ranking among qb's amongst the majority..He's not in my top 10..

    Manning
    Brady
    Rodgers
    Rothlerberger
    Brees
    Vick
    Farve
    Eli Manning
    Flacco
    Ryan
    Shaub.

Just to nitpick, but The real or pure WCO is the Coryell offense. Holmgren/Walsh offense is not the real WCO.

I don't mind too much. Sometimes I tune him out. Other times, he says something note worthy but that's every now and then. It just bugs me when they say something like the "real WCO" when its evolved a lot and the run game is different in Philadelphia than like it was in San Francisco. No one runs it like Walsh did.

I don't think he has any issue stepping up into the pocket. My issue with him is just his mechanics and release. When he's pressured, he can't throw an over the top ball and that bugs me. When I read your comment about variations, I thought to myself that you were looking for a quarterback who constantly changed his release point and all, which I don't agree with.

    I don't think he's overrated though, no.

Something came to mind; what's funny is you can trace the real West Coast Offense (Coryell's) back to Sid Gillman's offense and Dutch Meyer's offense, which he used a lot of passing concepts. Coryell set the bar high but its an evolution of the forward passing game.

The reason why Brett farve is the best screen passer of all time is his different angles and variations for which he releases, his passes don't get blocked a lot because he can throw from different angles...rivers cannot, hence he has many tipped balls... the game losing int is directlty related to what iam tryin to say here.

I didnt say he has problems stepping up, I said if he doesn't have a clean pocket to step up in, he has no pace and has poor velocity on the football..

I dont consider Phillip Rivers mobile, and I do think he's overrated..lol, pretty much disagree with ya on all points brother.:knucks:

You're out of your mind. There is no way Eli Manning, Flaco, Ryan, or Shaub are better than Rivers. And it's debatable if Rogers and Rothlisberger are. I would say they're not.

I already have a post around here defending Rivers, but needless to say, he's hardly overrated. The guy has no talent around him and he's doing it by himself. Not to mention the ****ty coaching he has to deal with. Guy is tough as nails, a great leader, and a hell of a QB. I wish Miami could be graced with his "overrated" ***.

Lot of upsets today. Saints, Texans, Bengals, Chargers, Packers and even Cowboys all teams that lost that should have won. Great day of football.

I also expect the 49ers to win tonight.

I put Ryan and Flacco there because if I had to choose one right now, to start my team with, I would pick Flacco and Ryan over River.....manning, shaub, river's, toss em up for all I care..

I was a big fan of Ryan and Flacco, and iam on the record saying they will project very well in the pro's when both were coming out...both teams, ravens and falcons look like legit contenders with their young QB's.

Ryan and Flacco have much more upside then your boy.

Iam not out of my mind, just a lil loco son..

Revis and the jets Exploited River's to a tee last year, and he had all the talent you need to get it done..

    Elite wide receiver..Vincent Jackson

    Elite tight end..Gates..

    Hall of fame RB..Tomlinson.

Excellent scat back and returner for good field position..Sproiles..

Very good secondary receivers In Mano and Floyd..

    Pro bowl left tackle ..Mcneil

please dont give me the whole, he's doin it by himself BS...he had it all last year, and the year before, and the year before..

remember, iam not sayin he poopoo, just overrated
