i get it. but he gets bailed out far too many times. its not his fault. i hate NBA officiating

just like the ray allen 3 that got wade called. refs assume much more than they actually see. for some reason they still assume that a player will not stumble or fall or go off balance on his own power. wade has it down to a science. its up to the refs to make him adjust, but they dont

i really hate being able to predict fouls before they happen.

I recall seeing the Kanicks and their fans doing the exact same thing when the had a lucky bounce to get them past Miami!!!

It was a heated rivalry, the Knicks were an 8 seed and in the 5th game of a 5 game series, and a last second shot.

NO comparison. And I wasnt bothered the Heat were acting like they climbed Mount Everest I was humoured.

Of course there was no comparison! Of course! Even though the Celtics team is one of the best teams the last few seasons, and even though that team knocked Wade and James out last year. Even though it is also a very heated rival there is just no comparison.

    Just sad

Since when did the Celtics and Heat become a big rivalry? No? Ok.

Miami put a nail in the coffin of Bostons run and frankly Im glad. But the series went 5 games so save the sugarcoating for someone else, and the "Knicks fan" cry makes zero sense since I was rooting for Boston to be ousted. But please dont let that tiny fact prevent you from making ridiculous statements.

Fin-O, did you watch this season? Did you see all the crap the Celtics talked this year? All the scrutiny that this series was put under?

For 6 months all we heard was that Boston would give Miami a comeuppance in the ECF's. Well, it didn't happen. Pierce and LBJ definitely have one of the best one on one rivalry's of ALL-TIME.

I’m surprised no one’s brought up the “O-VER-RA-TED” chants at Duh Gahduhn on opening night.

Umm in case you missed it, Miami and Boston have been going to the playoffs for a while now as your Knicks have been home playing golf and doing whatever. So yes, there is indeed a rivalry and it was very heated in case you missed it, or just like to overlook it! An arch rival can come and go as it has with the Heat and Knicks over the years. Mostly because one team wasn't any good but also because the players are not the same. So the Heat is on now with Boston, and Miami. NY is just now trying to get back in it.

The only thing rediculous is you saying you thought the celebration of a victory over the defending Eastern Conference Champions was funny or an overeaction. The very same team that knocked both LeBron, and Wade's teams out of the playoffs last season. The very same team that was kicking the snot out of the Heat for most of the year!

Of course you wanted Boston to be beaten. They just swept the Knicks but it never ever takes away from the fact that every fan in Miami and NY can't stand one another. So instead of making rediculous statements like you did just Shhhh and watch the next series which should be a really good one. Now you can root hard for the Heat to lose...

I assume that this not a rivalry stuff is just an attempt at leg pulling. The Celtics have eliminated the Heat the last two years and eliminated LBJ and the Cavs the last two years. From the moment the big 3 was formed this off-season everybody has been predicting a Miami/Boston match-up in the ECF. In fact, most media members predicted that Boston would win. To be clear, those predictions were made before the season started. After the series was over, both LBJ and Wade stated that they considered Boston their biggest rival. Here's a link to an article entitled "Birth of a rivalry" from last October that is all about the Boston/Miami rivalry: http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/10/26/birth-of-a-rivalry-heat-celtics-preview/ Here's a Boston based article from last January that lists Boston's biggest rivalries: http://www.electro-mech.com/team-sp...biggest-current-rivals-of-the-boston-celtics/ They have Miami second to only the Lakers.

Anybody who doesn't think Boston and Miami is a rivalry is either out of touch or just making stuff up.

All you have to do is dig into the series over the last few years.

. Udonis Haslem called Pierce a "Studio Gangster".
. KG cheap shotted Haslem in a game 2 years ago and sparked a fight.
. Wade hates Pierce and they have squared off into a scuffle a couple of times.
. The last two playoff series between the teams have featured 11 flagrants fouls, 3 ejections, and one fight.
. Lebron and Pierce probably have one of the best 1 on 1 rivalries of ALL-TIME.
. Doc Rivers probably felt slighted by Riley that he never got a boost as a coach after being his protege. (SVG got the Heat job)

and there is more. much more.

You guys are really pressing to prove a point that only really exists in YOUR eyes. Boston and Miami may not like eachother but dontr try to compare it to a rivalry where teams were getting ejected left and right, a coach goes out on the floor and trys to leg sweep the opposition, teams that met many years in the playoffs to a series that was onesided and one of the teams with a plethra of new faces.

Its not some great rivalry, it was the semi finals, it was one sided, it was over in 5.....

You guys want to try to write storybook endings then win the NBA title and that will be enough dramatics in itself, no need to create one already.

I posted articles talking about the Boston/Miami rivalry before the season so the claim that the rivalry exists in only in a few fans eyes or as a re-write that's going on now has already been proving wrong. Your argument that it isn't a rivalry or even the biggest rivalry for Miami right now based on the fact that there aren't as many fights as there were during a different era is irrelevant. And harping on the fact that it was a conference semi makes no sense b/c Miami/NY was never more than a conference semi. If your claim is that it isn't a big rivalry b/c they didn't meet in the finals then Miami/NY was never a big rivalry either, which is obviously a ridiculous position.

It's pretty obvious that Miami/NY was a big rivalry at one point, but hasn't been for a while. It may be again if NY is good enough to start facing Miami in the playoffs. Miami/Orlando is also a rivalry, but the lack of recent playoff meets has hurt that rivalry. At the moment Boston is clearly Miami's biggest rival in the eyes of the fans, players and media.

I agree that no one would or should place them on some pantheon of all-time greatest rivalries, but that's a different discussion. The Celtics are Miami's biggest current rivalry and just as clearly they were huge for Wade and LBJ personally. I see it as finally standing up to or beating up the bully that's been kicking your *** and taking your lunch money for the last two years. On top of that even though you been working out you spent the last year being told by everybody that you still can't beat him. The build up for that eventual confrontation would be personally huge. I think that would be a hugely emotional moment for anybody and it would be irrelevant whether it happened in the semis or in the finals. It was so big that I worry about a let down against Chicago. IMO Miami can and should beat Chicago, but the emotional side just isn't as big. It doesn't matter that this is the final. This isn't the team they've been targeting and trying to beat for years.

A rivalry does not mean people get ejected all the time. Unless you're going to show us how it happens at every Michigan, Olio State game you proved it for us.

I could give a damn about some story book fairy tale ending but I'm not the one playing either. They know it's a rivalry! Both teams admitted this so stop trying to say we're reaching at straws. It's not up to you to say what is and whats not and then totally dismiss the fact that your team did the exact same thing when they beat Miami in the playoffs.

The Knicks made a habit of knocking Miami out of the playoffs back then, and the only time they celebrated like crazy was because in the DECIDING GAME Alan Houston made a last second GW shot.

Why defend their celebration so hard if you feel it was warranted, its not like I went on a rant about it. All I did was make a 'LOL' comment and people went nuts around here.

You might be a tad correct sir. I love my Heat homers, and they hate me. Prolly because I shunned the Heat and took my fanhood to New York.

Coming from a fanbase that has called every single person who talks about the Heat in a negative light a "Hater" Your first sentence reaks of irony.

And Im a big deal around here so all the other sports teams fans normally tussle for my fanhood....when I chose to wear that John Starks jersey back in 95 all the Heat faithfull were destroyed.

And KP. Ofcourse Chicago is the underdog, Vegas isnt going to lose money based on seeding technicalities.

IMO people were generally called haters b/c it was so obvious they were nit-picking things to complain about that would have been no big deal if another player had done it. That's hypocrisy.

As for you being a big deal, I can only assume you're making a joke there, possibly trying to excuse yet another ridiculous statement. As for Knick's fans in general, I tend to view them with the same pity I view Jet's fans. The Knicks have never won a championship since I started following basketball in the early 80s so I see them as a team that was usually bad and occasionally not good enough. I guess that's how younger fans may view the Dolphins although the Dolphins at least had fewer periods of being inconsequential. The point is that I and most Heat fans tend see the Knicks as a team hoping to be relevant. They're like the little brother that is begging for attention (albeit without the fondness a sibling would engender). Basically they're tolerated and corrected when they're being particularly foolish, but mostly ignored. The knicks (and by proxy, their fans) may eventually be an opponent worthy of paying attention to, but that time hasn't come yet. So I can't really imagine anyone hating (or even caring) whether somebody is a Knick's fan.

Very well thought out post, why you put so much thought into it, I dunno. But I like the response, it sorta justifies why I say what I say. I make a comment that is obviously a joke to the majority of people, but you respond with a long and very laughable response.

Thank you, you remind me why I say some of the things I say. I set the trap just to see you react, and now? Now you's you can't leave.

Uh… you realize those are Bodog’s best odds for the series, right? The second best is Heat 4-1 at 5:1.

Vegas favors the Bulls to win a 7 game series.

It's a prop bet, Chicago is the home team. So IF it goes 7 they have an advantage.... Find me a site that favors the Bulls to win the series.

Your not interpreting the prop bet, they don't favor the Bulls to win the series.

    FIN-O is right.

The Bulls are a pretty big underdog in this series and the money is pouring in on the Heat. What those odds are telling you is that the only way the oddsmakers see the Bulls winning the series is in 7.
