BTW, I have bet basketball for years. There has NEVER been a team more strongly held down by the oddsmakers than the Heat. The oddsmakers have been on the NUMBER...ALL YEAR. it is uncanny. But if you know a team like I do, you can make money. If you had listened to my podcast after Game 1 of the Philly series, I gave the results for the rest of that series and gave you 3-1 ATS. Kentucky Derby pick: Midnight Interlude.
No realistic Knicks fan thinks Dwight Howard is coming to New York. And another star? Last time I checked we had ZERO this time last year and now have Carmelo Anthony and Amare. Nice try though...lol
They were your fourth and fifth options. Not a bad consolation prize for failing in free agency though.
We got Amare right away before Lebron or Bosh made their decision, so to say he was a "fourth or fifth option" is rather stupid. they missed out on ONE star FA and that was James. Anthony wasnt even an option at the time, when he became available we got him. Boy you sure will try and skew facts to make a BS comment sound true.
Lakers are getting their butts whipped. Odom just tossed out of the game, Kobe on the pine, Jackson looks lost.
total meltdown. bynum found a way to get off the floor. i wouldnt think he would be the type of guy to do that he made wade's artest impression last night look tame
bynum is a dirty player..that makes three times he just throws his elbow into a player going up like that...got suspended earlier this season for doing it to beasley. did it to gerald wallace last year or the year before too.

jeez..what is wrong with him. the wallace one isnt so awful. but the last two are really bad. that deserves a hefty fine. it looks like his go to move. what a jerk
Upset central. Lakers got swept, okc down to Memphis, Bulls are tied with the Hawks, and Miami series could be tied tommorow.
well it didnt look like the malicious elbows that he threw in the other two. the wallace one is borderline, imo. he is certainly not going for the ball, but it doesnt seem to be on the level of the others. im not sure we can confuse intent and the resulting injury, if any. in the other two, bynum was in clear position and wound up for a strike for example, what wade did to rondo was excessive and not needed, but he didnt intend to hurt him. or even when wade pulled down ray allen. allen could have smacked his head on the floor and died, but the result shouldnt mar the action. jmo
btw, the bulls are a collection of some of my least favorite college players over the last 7 years. theres not a single guy i can stand on that team. ben gordon was their only saving grace for me and now he is gone
Rondo did it to himself. he started to pull down Wade, just like he pulled down Mario Chalmers and just like he pulled down James Jones earlier.. it is what Rondo does. He clutches and grabs to keep his covers from the boards. This time it bit him in the ***.
Who does Wade think he is, succumbing to the forces of gravity like that? What is he, some sort of object with a defined mass and inertia?
we are never going to agree, but wade dropped his left leg voluntarily. again, he didnt try to hurt him. it wasnt even a dirty play. just unnecessary. my point though is the that the resulting injury shouldnt always be a guide in assessing what the other player does
Sec, did you see Ethan's smackdown of Simmons on Twitter? It was priceless. Basically he wrote that the play wasn't dirty despite what the biased guy with 1.5 million followers says.
Maybe Rondo shouldn't clutch and grab so much. He did it to himself, trying to tangle up a guy 3 inches and 30 pounds heavier than you. The replay is clear. Rondo grabs Wade's hip, then puts his elbow on Wades arm to bring him down. Wade then obliged. and trust me, I WANT TO BELIEVE that Wade cheap-shotted Rondo. But he didn't it. Rondo attempted to cheat and paid for it. Last I checked, grabbing a guy to keep him from going after a ball is illegal.
I thought Wade was trying to draw the foul on Rondo TBH about it. Eh, it happens, guys got tangled up, it is not as if DW undercut Rondo when he was going up for a dunk. And it also backfired the Heat were stunned and sort of lost focus on the game, Rondo came back in and was driving to the hoop to the right everytime and the Heat defense was not even trying to defend him.
Looked like pity-defense IMHO. Unprofessional yes, but for some odd reason I don't have a problem with it. Though I could totally see a coach like Sloan, Skiles, Saunders, Jackson or even Doc himself taking advantage and exploiting the injury on both ends of the floor (ie. go to his left; force him left; occupy all passing lanes to his right side). To be fair and with all morale-boosting aside, by any logic Rondo had no business out on the court.
Seriously. Felt like no one wanted to be the guy to get 7 steals off a guy with one arm... and to the detriment of the Heat. Heat realized they are not a dirty team.
Rondo was all over Wade, and all Wade did was try to box him out. Rondo was the one who pulled Wade backwards. Wade may have been able to simply fall but I don't blame him personally. I know if I was hitting the ground tangled with another player, I'd do whatever it took so I don't get hurt.
Take a bow! I did not even see your remark before I made mine. At the 47 second mark you clearly see Rondo pull his hip out from under him. Rondo is known to be a dirty player and he gets away with murder at home.
Is any more evidence needed? Let's recap...the NBA assigned heat Hater Tony Brothers, that scumbag McCutchen that screwed the Knicks in BOSTON in game 1, and a guy in Stafford that Donaghey says in his book, that he "hates" Pat Riley and actually rigged a game against the Heat (vs. the Knicks).... SO naturally...the refs won't want to screw the Heat too badly, to not look so obvious.... Well...NO. They flat out tried to rig that game last night. Foul calls were 21 to 12 in Boston's favor with a quarter to go, till teh Heat forced their hand by running 9 consecutive double stack screens to drive to the basket, did they manage to get 3 foul calls to get into the penalty with less than half the quarter to go. it was criminal...yet again. All the evidence you need is that Celtic fans on RealGM and fans of other teams all thought the game was rigged. and... The Heat still won. Can't rig defense and Boston choking.
How was that Wade 2 not a 3? Did the 3-pt line magically grow just before he went up? Anyone else notice Big Baby "boxing out" Joel early on in the game by basically shoving him clear out of the way.
Just one of many. The phantom Wade 2 that should have been a three....MAN that is ONE HELLUVA favorable interpretation of video. They called it a THREE on the court..and they reversed it with the angle they had?
Awesome stat Desides posted on HeatFreak; Who’s the man? They’re both the man. The statistics don’t lie, instead they merely confirm that the Miami Heat do, indeed, have dual alpha males in LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. To wit, through the Heat’s first nine playoff games: LeBron has scored 228 points. And so has Wade, each averaging 25.3 points. LeBron has 45 assists. So does Wade. Wade has 13 steals. LeBron has 12. Wade has 13 blocked shots. LeBron has 12. LeBron has made 78 field goals. Wade has made 77. LeBron has attempted 169 shots. Wade has attempted 167. LeBron has attempted 83 free throws. Wade has attempted 80.
I didn’t come up with it, it was a quote from an Ira Windbag article linked in that same post. (Muck, might be time to adjust link and vlink colors on Heatfreak to be more visible. )
officiating was awful, i agree. refs make far too many assumptions about the action rather than making calls based on what they actually see the NBA is part entertainment, part sport. i'd like to send david stern to gitmo to get him to admit what he has turned the sport into the heat defense really stepped up too at the end it will be interesting to see what the heat do going forward facing matchup deficits at the 1,5 and/or potentially 4 spots depending on the team they face
Same thing they have done all year. rely on their team defense. There is not one power forward left that can overwhelm Chris Bosh. Lamarcus Aldridge is not in the playoffs...is he? Heat face Dirk...Dirk will be beat on by a host of Heat defenders, one of which will NOT be Chris Bosh.
