He said that MGS2 was his last MGS game; then he was involved with Substance; then he said MGS3 was his last game because the team wasn't ready to make MGS games without him; then he was involved with MGS3 Subsistence; then he was involved with MGS Portable Ops; then he was involved with MGS4, even going so far as to say that "without Portable Ops, there is no MGS4." The man may want to get away from Metal Gear and make original IP like Lunar Knights and Snatcher, but "this is my last Metal Gear game" has been repeated about seventeen times now. From other companies not named Konami, therefore not applicable to companies named Konami.
True, but you never know when he may actually be serious (which I hope he never is). If what I think is going to happen and what I hope doesn't happen happens, it may be serious.
He's been serious this entire time. Every time he said "this is my last Metal Gear game," he meant it. Circumstances forced him back to the director's role: first the team wasn't ready to make games without his direction, then an opportunity presented itself to end Solid Snake's story. The fact that Kojima is so intent on making this Solid Snake's last game means that he's trying his hardest to close the book on any and all plot threads so there's no excuse for him to come back for MGS5. There will not be a port of MGS4 to the 360, and if Kojima has his way, he won't be back for any future Metal Gear games.
Solid Snake does not have to die in order for MGS4 to wrap up all the loose ends in the series so far and thus ending Snake's involvement.
If it's retirement, he was brought out of retirement in the original MGS. Other than that, I don't see many ways Snake could not be involved in future stories.
Not retirement, just a conclusion to all the loose ends. Character issues are resolved, Patriots issue is resolved, there's nothing left to go sneaking around for. Thus, Snake's involvement ends.
And then it's up to the next team what to do, but Kojima intends to end Snake's involvement. I don't know why you're arguing with this idea, because Kojima's been pretty forthright about this being the end of Snake's involvement with the series. If he comes back--a big if--it won't be due to Kojima. And, yes, this means that if Kojima comes back for MGS5, Snake won't.
I think the numbers will probably add up. Even if they didn't for some reason, Sony would likely just pay them off b/c it wouldn't help PS3 sells if consumers see that PS3 couldn't keep a big exclusive. But as I said, I doubt there will be a problem with sales of MGS4. I know I'm getting it.
IMO it's the best hockey game I've ever played. Sure, it has major flaws (some of the ratings are terrible, roster management is a bit of a choir sometimes, too many hit posts and the puck leaves the ice surface resulting in a face-off WAY too much) but the game play is stellar. I'm big time addicted.
Hockey games are usually pretty solid-I play them over baseball and basketball all the time, though football usually takes the cake for me. Havent actually watched much hockey on TV since graduating from college 3 years back though, I likely wouldnt know half the names nowadays
I would have to go with CoD4 also. It's amazing that Ubisoft made a game that great... and it's MULTI PLATFORM. People are used to great games being exclusives. The developer can make a very good game and only have to worry about 1 console. But they released CoD4 on the 360, PC, and PC and it's awesome on each. Honorable mentions go to Bioshock, Mass Effect, and The Orange Box. Hi again guys.
Welcome back Mor Yes, the fact that CoD4 was a great game across all platforms, and for both single and multiplayer was a big factor for me. Very impressive.
Yeah, I would have to say COD4 as well. When I look at my buddy list everyone is playing it. Whatever happened to R:FOM.
errrr yeah!! I knew that! I'm The Mor!!! Seriously though... I swear that Ubisoft logo was popping up when I load the game. I might confusing it with Assassin's Creed.
Most likely assassins creed. Which by the way I can't wait for a sequel to since the engine is done they should be able to focus more on the gameplay and make the sequel better than the first which rarely happens but we can hope.
Mannnnn.... I am going to have to go against the grain on this one and go with either Bioshock or Mass Effect. COD4 was awesome....BUT....it felt like the Ghost Recon series....and COD2.....and so on and so on... It was awesome and had great moments but GOTY? Hrmmm.....
CoD4 and Halo 3, not for me in particular, but i think the masses created the most hype about those 2 and i dont think many people were let down about it either
Does that game ever let up? It's like one big "Final board/finish/ending" throughout the entire game. Love it.
