It's not just the Fort Lauderdale cops, every city's PD goes at whatever speed they feel like. I'm surprised the Fort Lauderdale PD is bothering with this, though. Do they have nothing else to do than to write up their own employees?
LMAO! Kharma's a beyatch! Next they should monitor cops blowing through stop lights by turning on their flashers to stop traffic only to turn them off and cruise down the street after they get through the light. Then they can target the Broward Sheriffs office for their shady cops and incredibly high levels of brutality claims.
You won't hear me complaining. I'm happy that someone in gov't. has decided to at least make some steps to enforce an adherence to an expected code of conduct from officers.
Going to take a lot more than that. I like how one guy got busted 30 times. Tells you something about how ineffective this is in curbing behavior. Must be a nice mini-revenue stream, though.
In the end that's what it all comes down to. Just glad to see the reapers of the city's citation rev. streams getting a taste of their own medicine.
i enjoy this article very much.....fort lauderdale cops are the worst.....turning on their lights to go through a red light at an intersection or speeding....drives me crazy. glad to see that there's a monitor for a capless power.
The problem with some law enforcement is the lack of enforcement of the same rules they preach. IMO, cops should feel the same nervousness we feel when they follow us for 15 minutes waiting for us to throw the weed bag out. They should feel the pressure of having to dump the body out of the trunk before someone catches them, they should feel......oh wait....I better stop.....
Yeah they are bad and corrupt but Browards BSO dept. has a long history of thug and gang-like behavior. I have zero respect and look at any BSO officer with a leery eye because of this. It's sad but it is what it is and they've caused their own rep.
I'm afraid that when Tom Tancredo called Miami a third world country, he was more correct than he knew. The only reason I go into Dade these days is to head to Dolphin Stadium.
I'm not a real big fan of Neil Rogers but I do have to chuckle remembering how he'd go off on rants about Miami being "The Banana Republic" and how you could tell you've crossed into a 3rd world country after passing the 826/I-95 Cloverleaf. He was so dead on with that. the minute you pass that section traffic becomes crazy and nothing you could see on the road from that point on would surprise any longtime resident
You mean the 836, right? Personally, I think the "border" is quite a few miles north of that these days. If you come south from Orlando via the Turnpike, you can tell when you've arrived in South Florida by the driving.
