J.J. Abrams might have finally sucker-punched Team HEROES into submission. The HEROES versus LOST battle has been raging for months, with fans on each side bickering with each other over which sci fi epic is king. It’s not a direct win for LOST, but the new spine-chilling promo for FRINGE puts the Abrams brand of paranormal, super-human drama out in front.

If it's Abrams, I'll give it a shot. Looks like the actor who plays mysterious Mr. UbbyDubby or whatever his name is is getting more work, thanks to J.J..

I think BSG is better than both Heroes and LOST, but this new show looks good. I'll definitely give it a look.

Yeah Tuesday is very weak atm. Only Hells Kitchen now that AI is done and they moved House off. Not that House had a long season or anything (Hint to Fox, MAKE MORE ASAP!!)

Seems similar to Supernatural (SPN will always be better, no matter what). I'll watch the first ep and go from there.

A new report predicts that Fox's J.J. Abrams SF series Fringe and CBS' Jerry Bruckheimer SF procedural drama Eleventh Hour will be the highest-rated new shows, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The results are in an annual television report by Horizon Media that includes speculative estimates of how every broadcast show will fare in the fall.

The analysis contained some expected claims, such as those that established hits such as NBC's Heroes will continue to rule their time periods.

But there also were some surprises. In general, the report was skeptical about how new shows in general would stack up against competitors; not one new show is expected to win its time period in the adults 18-49 demographic.

Horizon also predicted that ABC's upcoming U.S. reboot of the British time-travel drama Life on Mars will be the third-highest-rated new show. CBS' Ghost Whisperer is expected to win its time period.

I never saw Supernatural so I can't comment. I'm a huge LOST fan, so naturally I had to watch this premiere. I'm not sure what to make of it. It might be a little too "out there" for my taste.

I'll give it another shot on Tuesday for sure. I love the actor that's also from LOST, I think he's done a fantastic job in both roles.

I thought it was really good. Didn't really like the ending, but I set my DVR to record the series. The crazy doctor is what makes the show IMO.

Did anyone catch the new episode last night?

I was completely confused by the ending? What the hell was that? Something about the son's medical condition?

I'm sure they will explain it at one point down the road, one of those "suspense" builders. If I had to guess I would say his dad experimented on him when he was younger, or like that other guy, he WAS an experiment. I like the show personally. JJ Abrams has always been a favorite of mine so this is awesome for me. I'm not even phased by the fact that someone actually reemployed someone from Dawsons Crack.

    Good show.

Notice the music is almost the exact same as LOST, building up to a drmatic part right before a commercial?

yup, there are a lot of things I notice from Lost in this show. The music, as you said, could easily be in Lost. Also the uncertaintly of what is going on, how the endings so far have left you with a WTF moment, the scene transitions with the Lost style letters...

I'm not overly impressed. It feels a lot like X-files after it got old. I'll keep watching since I'm often home Tues. nights but it's not a must see. I don't put it in the class of Lost or Heroes.

    Fringe - Home

From J.J. Abrams ("Lost"), Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the team behind "Star Trek," "Mission: Impossible III" and "Alias," comes a new series that will thrill, terrify and explore the blurring line between the possible and the impossible.

When an international flight lands at Boston's Logan Airport with no signs of life, FBI Special Agent OLIVIA DUNHAM (Anna Torv) is called in to investigate as part of an inter-agency task force. After her partner, Special Agent JOHN SCOTT (Mark Valley), is nearly killed during the investigation, a desperate Olivia searches frantically for someone to help, leading her to DR. WALTER BISHOP (John Noble), our generation's Einstein. There's only one catch: he's been institutionalized for the last 17 years, and the only way to question him requires pulling his estranged son PETER (Joshua Jackson) in to help.

When Olivia's investigation leads to multi-billion dollar corporation Massive Dynamic and its manipulative corporate executive, NINA SHARP (Blair Brown), our unlikely trio, along with Department of Homeland Security Agent PHILLIP BROYLES (Lance Reddick) and FBI Agents CHARLIE FRANCIS (Kirk Acevedo) and ASTRID FARNSWORTH (Jasika Nicole), will discover that what happened on Flight 627 is only a small piece of a larger, more shocking truth.

The FRINGE pilot is directed by Emmy Award-winning Alex Graves ("The West Wing"), and the series is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Bad Robot Productions. J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and Bryan Burk serve as executive producers.

That's pretty much how I feel about it. I won't worry if I miss it, but it's interesting enough at this point. The way lengths they went to solve last night's case has me a tad concerned about the future though.

I don't really see Supernatural in this at all. It's totally X files w/o aliens (at least up to this point).

    I like it so far.....

I agree with it being a bit too graphic at times and that its not quite on LOST or Heroes level, but I think it has a ton of potential. I just hope they don't take it to far. They've said that it will be more of a SCI than SCI-FI show but we heard the same thing with LOST and I am still anxiously awaiting a scientific explanation of the Black Smoke and a moving island.

I'm interested to see more cybernetics and some teleportation that was mentioned in Fringe. I'm sure the show will revolve around Massive Dynamic much like LOST does Dharma.

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but it seems like a cross between X-Files and CSI. I love both of those shows...but only an lukewarm to this one so far.

Perhaps it has to do with the believability factor? My girlfriend and eye both rolled our eyes when they were able to pull the images off of the optic nerve of a dead lady. It just kind of killed the momentum of the show at that point.

I will say that I love the interaction between Joshua Jackson and his father. Funny stuff and well played.

I will continue with the show to see where it goes, but only on a week to week basis for now. I also get a kick out of Dunham's friend who played a prisoner on Oz. always straneg to see anyone from that show play someone in authority now.
