Posting this in the Soapbox / Rant forum because I'm basing this on nothing but speculation on my part. (and I'm standing on a soapbox)

I predict we get nothing today in terms of Fisher news (Friday). Over the weekend Jim Caldwell gets fired. Early next week Fisher becomes head coach of the Colts.

Middle of next week we hire one of the guys we have already interviewed. My guess there is Zimmer.

I also predict if/when I'm wrong you'll all point and laugh at me.

I predict that no matter who we get at HC will get average results, at best... until we put a real franchise QB on the field, too.

    Agreed.

Jeff Fisher + Franchise QB = playoff wins / potential superbowl title

Jeff Fisher + Matt Moore / 2nd round bargain basement QB draft pick / overrated free agent = more of the same.

Won't agree with that, currently we do not even run the ball very well, let alone have a powerful passing game.

problems on the Oline are still there, DTrain did not do much, Clay was injured, Gates did nothing, we have issues beyond the Qb.

I predict we hear nothing at all, and the Dolphins Mngmt sits around like big dummies hoping he calls.

We run the ball effectively enough, and the reason we don't have a 'powerful' passing game... IMHO... is due to not having that franchise QB.

We have, arguably, the best lineman in the game and just drafted a center with a very bright future ahead of him. We're 1 or 2 players away from having a very good OL, IMHO.

You pointed to our backup RB, backup TE, and a #4 rookie WR. I think you're correct in saying these guys weren't as effective as they should have been... especially when it comes to Donald Thomas, who I had doubts about the moment we drafted him. However, on the flip side to your points... we have Reggie Bush, Anthony Fasano, Brandon Marshall, and Davone Bess. I think the ability to score points on offense is most certainly there if we add... not just an average game-managing QB like Matt Moore (no offense to him)... but a true franchise QB.

My original point was really that if we get that 'franchise' guy under center, I think it makes us instant playoff contenders. I don't necessarily think we'd be hoisting the Lombardi... but...

Zimmer is interviewing with Tampa, so we could lose him also.

Padre, I posted this here so there would be no doubts whatsoever that this was not based on any facts / mystery source, etc. Everyone is on edge with the Fisher stuff, so I figured posting here was the best thing to avoid anybody getting unduly angry / worried.

It does seem more and more folks in the media are starting to have similar thoughts as I do. We'll see...
