Here is what I'm wishing for, and expect. NT- Wilfork (I can dream) or Hampton, Pickett, Franklin, Tank Johnson. All fill our need, and are VG options. I'm betting we sign one. ILB- Zona's Dansby is the only one worth a damn. I believe we will take a shot but, he won't be cheap. OLB- Pat's Banta-Cain and Saints's Fujita are worth a look. That's it. I do not see another who can make any difference. IF we see Satan throwing snowballs, aka new CBA, there are 20 or so players I would add to the list. Otherwise, all other wants and need go to the draft or trades. Opinions?
Chris Gocong could be a nice solution at SOLB or maybe even ILB. he's a RFA though and i don't think Philadelphia would let him walk just like that. Antonio Bryant would be a functional #1 WR IMO.
Yesterday, the Boynton Beach-born, University of Miami-bred Wilfork said he'd be happy to play for the Dolphins, who have a desperate need at nose tackle now that Jason Ferguson's gotten himself old and gimpy. http://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/Could-Vince-Wilfork-Become-A-Dolphin-81127537.html
I did not include RFA because they are going to cost more than money. Bryant caught 37 balls for 585 in 12 games after an early knee injury. I know he was much better in 08 but, can't get excited about him.
fair enough. i like Bryant enough to get him aboard. he's almost as fast as Ginn, however, he actually catches the ball.
yeah wilfork in the middle might make our inside linebackers go from awful to average that would be a step up
I have never been one to go after high priced FA's. Wilfork is the exception. I saw Starks , Langford, and Merling drop off a bit when Ferg went down. One can only imagine how god they will be should we sign Wilfork.
I'd rather draft someone than Wilfork by far. Way too much money for someone who can't pass rush worth a damn, even by the standards of the NT position.
OK, who are you drafting, and where, to help our team this year? I do not see a single NT who would contribute, even in the first round.
