Well ... not anyone ... Spoiler http://l2.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/K...s/gosder-cherilus-football-headshot-photo.jpg
This. I don't think either of us thought this would be the outcome; it seemed like it was something benefiting both teams in the long run at the time and did not violate any rules. But in hindsight, I get where it rubbed people the wrong way. So on my end, I'm sorry if that at all compromised the integrity of the league. My issue last night was mainly how it was handled. Immediately freezing transactions to sort things out was fair, but publicly threatening to kick UCF out of the league was uncalled for. I guess GIK and UCF worked things out and both have a clearer understanding of where each one was coming from. Glad it was resolved and look forward to finishing out the season with hopefully no more drama.
I just had to go and look at incidence that were similar, so I looked at the different leagues like last years when the Lions GM threw out some iffy trades and there was a threat to ban him (rightfully so). I'm not saying it's too similar to what happen last night but you could have argued all the same stuff about his trades and then you want to argue about a GMs draft history, well up until last year Saint Greg was fine but after what he did you'd never thought he would do something like that. Any GM could turn on a dime, so sometimes as a commish you're allowed to lay down the hammer and let the league know he won't tolerate things that will affect the integrity of the league.
Yup I think the main lesson here is...lock it down and take it to PM's Open air drama just drags it out ;p
so the NFL Cowboys just signed Darren McFadden to a two year deal... I guess we'll find out just how much of a worthless running back this guy is behind a real offensive line in Dallas... as opposed to what they had with the Raiders.
Still deciding how to handle this... everything will probably open back up tomorrow at 8:57PM EST. I'll notify everyone for sure so they have adequate time to get their ducks (I'm talking to you VO) in order. The bids will just go on as-is... for example, my bid on Justin Forsett was March 12 at 10:28AM EST. He would sign on March 15 at 10:28AM EST if no one bid on him. If a player was signed before 8:57PM EST on March 12 then he is still signed. Some of the trades the Falcons made will be vetoed (the ones where he was giving up a pick to offload a player) and some won't.
If we had a player that would of been signed prior to the threads being closed...we still sign them correct?
I feel like I'm managing the Saints better than the Saints IRL. Wtf. Kenny Stills to MIA? What the hell are they doing?
watch, Ellerbe is gonna play in a role that Ireland had in mind for him and he busts out a Pro Bowl season.
Still talking about the Jimmy G trade? Sheesh... Let's look at this way: If one GM OFFERS a trade, he WANTS whatever deal if he is offering. If another GM ACCEPTS a trade, he ALSO wants whatever deal is being offered. If I ACCEPTED an offer, that means I WANTED IT. I wish this would be the last time that trade got mentioned in a negative way, but I highly doubt that will happen...
It was unfortunately brought up in the heat of that whole e-fight. Not a classy move in my opinion. I don't blame you one ounce after seeing the QB market and given the draft class.
In other news, do I have the best run defense in the GML? DE: Derek Wolfe NT: Dan Williams DE: Frostee Rucker OLB: Sam Acho ILB: Brandon Spikes ILB: Daryl Washington OLB: Alex Okafor with Deone Bucannon in the box, and Tommy Kelly, Kevin Minter, Sylvester Williams, and David Hawthorne rotating. answer: yes
No. That would be Ngata-Brandon Williams-Timmy Jernigan (Randy Starks, Mike Devito main reserves) along with Ware and Suggs outside and Dansby and Daryl Smith inside.
I intentionally did not mention the player's name or the GM because I didn't want to take a shot at anyone. Other brought up Leroy and I genuinely felt bad about that. But LeRoy' s point is exactly the one I was trying to make...if bith GMs make a trade that they truly believe will help their teams and it doesn't violate any set rules, it should be allowed. But clearly a line was crossed and I'm in the minority in this.
Actually I think you were meaning to refer to the Tampa bay defense with Gerald McCoy, geno Atkins, jadeveon clowney, Brandon Marshall, Tahir whitehead, Curtis lofton and (pending) jerrell freeman, with two shutdown corners in talib and verner. Not to mention a solid group of safeties in ihedigbo, brown, and lowery
No I'm quite sure I was referring to the ravens actually Left out my DB....Jimmy smith Darius slay and Cary Williams in the slot. Terrence Newman and rashaan Melvin for depth. Griffin and will hill at safety with Antonio Allen and Darian Stewart for depth.
thanks. After I started to move around pieces I realized I was building a super star defense, and I knew it would start with the front seven. They're the pride and joy of the Tampa Bay Bucs. Them and Mike Evans, of course
In my mind: best case scenario - clowney is a stud, exactly what the Texans saw in him when they drafted him last year, and he, Atkins, and McCoy (and Jacquies smith, who Tampa bay management is high on right now), ensure no rb is safe. Worst case scenario: clowney is a bit slow coming off an injury filled year, is merely an average starter, but still excels due to the talent of our defensive tackles. I don't see a scenario wherein clowney isn't a starter (barring new injuries, of course), but how effective he is we'll see
Absolutely. I will say this...this is my first year being part of the GML albeit in a Asst GM role assisting FFG (Ive already signed a multi year contract with her so back off....rofl)... This is NOT an easy league to wrap your arms around. At first I thought it was going to be as closely simulated to the NFL as possible. Then FA started...anndddd I soon learned this is not the case. I see certain positions are, I wont say over valued, but some of the salaries I see players getting is bonkers. I think the best way to keep things on the up and up....is to have a dynasty league. For example, the Jaguars. So many holes to begin with, theirs no way we were going to rebuild it in one season. I would have been really cool to take a multi year approach to it, and see if after 2 or 3 we could have made one ready to contend. Dynasty leagues you have much more sweat equity in place. You arent going to pull a massive salary dump to get one player, because you have to look past the (how will everyone vote at the end of this league)..and then team in the can. I mean honestly....if we are really trying to simulate the NFL, who in their right mind would pay $20 Mil for Gipson? This is when it becomes more like fantasy football.
Those of you that keep asking for simulations and dynasty leagues.... Everyone is just waiting on Beyond the Sidelines to be released this summer... Hopefully. If you don't know what it is, Google.
