Dolphins running back Ricky Williams opened up last week on several subjects, including his thought process when he quit football the first time: "Looking back, I was so dumb," he said. "Something had to get out of my system. It's such a stressful job. I should have gone up to the head coach and told him what was going on inside of me before it exploded in me. When it did explode, it was too late." And he also commented on the team's chances for 2008: Williams predicts the Fins will win "at least nine games." Williams will need to prove he can maintain his conditioning throughout the game and limit his history of fumbling or he will be in someone's dog house -- big time.

Another example of wonderful game management occurred in 1995, when the Browns played the Patriots in an AFC wild-card game .Trailing by 10 points with less than two minutes remaining, the Patriots offense was moving the ball. Suddenly they faced a fourth-and-two at the Browns 30. Bill Parcells had two choices: either allow Matt Bahr to attempt a 47-yard field goal and then hope to gain control of the onside kick or just try and gain the two yards and keep the drive alive. Parcells walked over to Bahr and asked him, "Can you make this?" When Bahr hesitated, Parcells ordered the offense to stay on the field. Parcells would rather take his chances on fourth down than send an unsure kicker on the field. The Patriots ended up losing the game, but every decision Parcells made down the stretch gave New England a chance to at least tie the game.

Good article, can't imagine Al Davis calling up Jon Gruden on the sidelines though. I think that's why Gruden managed to do so well while he was there.

Last year the Steelers had a rookie head coach who did very well, but I distinctly remember that last game they lost was a very winnable game for them. They lost it because of game management decisions by the head coach...

Haha Thats the first person that came to mind when I read the title of this article. Guess I wasnt alone on that one.
