This is not shocking even tho I would not have minded to use it on Bell

    Slightly left of center
Called it! In one of the original discussions re the tag, I didn't think there was anyone on this team the powers that be would find irreplaceable. I think not using the tag just cuz they can is BRILLIANT and sends a message to the team, It doesn't matter who you are or what you did last yr or in your career or whatever. You better be ready to strap it on come football season, EVERYBODY will be playing for a job.

Not surprising at all and as expected the Fins FO is playing hard ball with free agents. It's best for the cap. If they walk we better draft well and make a signifiant splash in FA.

I would of been fairly happy had it been used on Bell but im also happy it was not used at all.

I'm glad they didn't use it. Bell is a good player but I don't think he is worth top 5 money but thats JMO.

I think Bell would have been worth it simply because the safety tag isnt prohibitive and it would have secured a solid member of our secondary.
I hope this means we are close to contract with him myself, but time will tell.
