Just figured some of you who may not know this would like to know, I'm not sure it exactly deserves it's own thread but I wanted to share my recent find with others who may be interested.

You can watch every episode of the original series (free and legally) at www.cbs.com/classics/star_trek

    Live long and prosper.

    :knucks:

Just got back from the Star Trek Movie. Action-packed. Good film. Hope there will be more in the future. Maybe remake the TV series with the new actors?

Wow..I thought that I was the only one in this forum that thought "Star Trek" (TOS, STTNG, and STV and even Enterprise) was... "Fascinating."

Seems that there are many here who venture to "Boldly Go"...where not many have gone before...

Next Generation is my favorite, but I love TOS too.

Yeah... I actually enjoyed seeing a different version...

So the new timeline has the planet Vulcan destroyed and the Enterprise has many turbines in the Engineering section...:pity:
The thing I loved about TNG was that everything that function was discuss as if everything worked as it was designed to...Sure they had the better of the "special effects..." brought a new "shock and awe" to the show...

I'm going to pick up the lu Ray of the original series that allows you to switch back and forth between the original and the remastered (which is awesome, if you haven't gotten a chance to see it).

Well the age old question is Captain Kirk or Captain Picard?

Personally I'd take Commander Riker from TNG over both

I dunno.. I served on a sub, believing in the Skipper is pretty important.. I've just never been able to see Riker as a Captain I would like to serve with. I know Frakes is a very hard worker, greatly respected by his peers behind the scenes.. producing, directing and such.. he just has never "suspended" my disbelief.

If there was an Al Gore, I'd say it was Geordi. He loved to go on the holodeck and make up fantasies just like Mr. Gore. lol

But, I do get what you're saying.

TNG is my least favorite Trek series.

    Come on Alex...you are mistaken...

Its either Yeoman Janice Rand or Councelor Lwaxana Troi (she looked great at times), especially that episode where she did here stuff with Data...

Marina Sirtis did some naughty work before TNG. Not that's you'd want to google that or anything.

Riker is like the best of Captain Kirk and Captain Picard mixed. Plus Jonothan Frakes is just awesome in general as an actor....and director.

The problem for Riker was that he had to play counterpoint to Picard because of the scripts...and Picard is always right.

I liked Riker when they developed his character a bit. And William Frakes is a pretty decent director, as it turns out.
