Blaine Gabbert falls to 41? Not impossible, but I would be shocked.

Really good work on the production, I just don't see the Dolphins using the first round pick on a defensive player. Unless Sparano and Ireland really do feel that Henning hurt the team more than they've stated publicly.

    There is NO WAY.....NO WAY....NO WAY.....NO WAY.....did I say NO WAY enough?

That the Phins pass on Blaine Gabbert if he is there at 15. Not a chance. If they do.....I might just reincarnate as Fishy Pete....better yet...MikeO

You're right...there's always a possibility! Still early in the process

Thanks Homie! A lot really depends on the CBA and free agency... that's mostly why I didn't have a lot of QBs going in the 1st round

LOL! ok ok I get it!! But honestly...you're sold that much on Gabbert?

I'd be willing to bet we would trade down if he is the BPA at 15. I've said it hundreds of times already...did you guys even know who this guy was a couple of months ago? The media is single handedly raising his stock. A few months ago, I saw him being projected in the 2nd-5th rounds. Now, all of a sudden he is a top 5 pick? hmmmm

In the QB driven NFL, only one QB selected in the 1st round? That is suspect. Too many teams NEED QB's and it's too important a position for everyone to play it safe and not select any.

EDIT: The Phins need playmakers more then anything. We couldn't go with a OLB and pass on playmwkers in the 1st round IMO.

Im sold enough on him to take him at 15 without blinking...enough to trade way up...not sure yet...

    I disagree...it wasnt the media....

    It was the fact that..

    A) There are a few teams in dire need of a franchise QB...
    B) This is a QB driven league...and the playoffs even made that more apparent....
    C) This draft as far as Qb's were concerned...was all about Andrew Luck...once he declared he was returning to Stanford for his Senior year....all the focus shifted to what many thought..was the next best QB. Many feel that was Brandon Weeden...but he decided to stay (at his age..that one was a shocker...) so that left Blaine Gabbert and Cam Newton.

Gabbert plays for a mid western Big 10 school that isnt usually seen on ESPN...or ABC..so Missou's star QB doesnt get alot of media attention.

To look at his skill set....and be mistaken that he doesnt have the ability to be a franchise QB...is kinda like disregarding him because he isnt a brand name....he has alot of potential...and deserves to be regarded as a 1st round QB....and will likely be gone before we pick at 15.....and if he drops anywhere close to that....the Phins should do whatever it takes to make sure we land him...

Nothing wrong with building a stellar defense, but not picking up an offensive player until at least round 3?

Better make a couple of significant free agent signings on the offensive side of the ball.
