Good grief does UT need to move on from Fulmer or what? I ALMOST feel bad for them. Two bad penalties (both bad calls) and they're like the bad news bears out there. Yeah, you know I can't help but to about my boy James. It's impossible to call any returner the best you've ever seen. There's too many Rockets, and Desmond Howards out there. However, I would say James is quickly garnering the reputation that belongs near the top. He's been money since he was a freshman, and now he's barely human. I feel like I'm watching a video game out there. Great to see Moody get some carries. I know I've bored you guys with it before, but I really believe that his presence will be pivotal for our offense this year. Moore just doesn't make any DC change his game plan, and you need someone other than Tebow to run between the tackles. Not to mention that Moody can break a long one as well. Sometimes I can't figure out if we're conservative on offense, or if we just can't figure out how to use the talent. I feel like our spread offense, tends to bottle itself up a lot. For the love of God, throw that damn ball down field!!! I know it's stupid complaining about our offense right now, but like I'm watching Kasparov playing checkers. Seeing Brandon Spikes playing up to his potential brings a huge smile to my face. He's so damn talented. Now he's plays attacking the ball rather than thinking too much. Not sure that I'm buying that Doe didn't start due to injury. Simple fact is that Stamper has out played him all year. I really liked what I saw from him last year, and all he's done is improve since then. I like Doe, but he doesn't look any better (maybe even more tentative) than last year.
Their qb Crompton is terrible. 3 times in the red zone with nothing in the first half. BTW, nice to see you're giving your punter a workout finally.
lol, poor kid wasn't sure if he's really on the team Crompton really is bad. I'm by no means deluded into thinking this game is because of UF. UT is just that bad this year. BTW, as I'm typing this Moody got some carries and really looks like the kind of running back that can open things up for the offense... I know it's almost a dead horse by now with me, but I need to see it consistently. EDIT: I think it was only two times in the red zone. Not that it really matters.
If this was a close game, I'd be really fired up by these calls today. One bad call after another, and UT still isn't in it. It's not over yet, by any means, but these refs better get their **** together.
UT CB Eric Berry (?) tackles like a linebacker. I wonder if the kid can cover, because he sure as heck can play football.
He doesn't even look that fast he's just a master at making people miss. Good to see him finally get his shot. No doubt, the playcalling is so frustrating. Can't really complain about the results though. 3-0 and No Turnovers Agreed
I'm glad I missed this game today (yeah I knew it would be bad). Plus I just have to add that Fulmer-Crompton = Wannstedt-Fiedler (except Crompton is more like Ray Lucas).
That is very true. Seriously with Tennessee I refuse to pay attention to anymore of their games until Fulmer is gone or a major turnaround happens. I can't even remember this team lived up to expectations or even started 3-0. Fulmer should be fired and big money thrown at some big time coach or give an upstart a chance.
It runs in cycles bro .They were saying the same thing about the Georgia bulldogs until they thrashed the Gators last year.
Agree with everything, but the bolded is almost the exact same wording I'd use! I think we threw down the field twice, one real nice catch by percy and one PI in the endzone. I just think we are going to do the short stuff until the D tries to take it away. Once they move the safties up... AT least that is what I hope.
I'm not so sure about that Crunch I have been watching these games for as long as I can remember and every year you can pretty much bank on a Florida victory or else you are truly shocked. The Ron Zook years were about the only years I can remember that UT had a chance, the Spurrier and now Meyer years are/were pretty much hopeless for UT. I guess eventually the cycle will reverse itself but not in the foreseeable future. Fulmer is the key I believe as he is 5-12 vs. the Gators.
What happened to UF's offense? They just seem far less explosive this year, and I expected them to be better.
Take a look at my post, and some others' as well. UF has be very conservative this year. Ridiculously so. It's not that the offense isn't working well, it's just that they are playing very close to the vest. Picture Wanny running a spread offense One thing that will be different this year, for every team, is that there will be less total plays, to the point of 2-3 less series per team.
Florida's offense is fine. We don't need to open it up right now. I think we are holding a lot back. Our defense looks great even tho we have played some very lack luster offense's. Also the Gators offense does not have one turnover yet this year. Jonathan Crompton will be a great QB. The kid is not getting any help. He needs to make better decisions and slow down but I expect that with time.
I don't know about all that. He's already a Junior and needs ALOT of work. He made some real boneheaded decisions in that game. Especially trying to take on Haden straight up.
The guy was trying to make a play and he still does not have a lot of experience. He has 1 playmaking WR and that's it. I think it has more to do with the Gators D than a Bad QB. However time will only tell
Was anyone else really annoyed by the announcers Saturday? I'm usually a huge fan of Verne Lundquist and don't mind Gary Danielson but they were driving me nuts saturday. Between butchering player's names and just making completely false statements I was tempted to mute the TV. My favorite part was in the 4th quarter when Tennessee got the ball back down about 20 and they said it was pretty much over because Peyton wasn't coming back. LMAO, what good would he do? He never beat the Gators either!
I can see him improving and turning out "okay" but I see absolutely nothing to base a "Great" label on. This was not the first game he has struggled in. As much as I'd like to think it was because of the Gators Defense, I'd have to disagree, they had alot of self inflicted issues. Not to mention the first two games he played this year.
They were bugging me. That and everytime UT did ANYTHING they praised it for like 5 min. I guess that was just trying to keep the audience in the game of a blow out, but ugh.
They kept calling Janoris Jenkins, Jenoris Jackson and said that Major Wright was the one who laid out Crompton when it was Haden. The second one wasn't quite as bad cause my boy MW does light people up alot but still.
I forgive them for all their transgressions. Those guys are so in the tank for UF it's rediculous. The only thing missing is ole' Mick's "OH MY!" The Peyton thing is hilarious though!
Well we can agree to disagree. I have a lot of hope in him. I guess I might just have faith in him, but only time will tell
No he will never be. I watched Crompton in his first 2 games this year as well as when he filled in for Eric Ainge last year when he was hurt. The plain and simple fact is that Crompton just doesn't have it. I'll give the guy some slack for having to learn a new offense this year (sort of) but the fact that when replacing Ainge he was bad and still hasn't improved is inexcusable. The guy on half of his passes throws the ball 10 feet away from the receiver (just pick your direction) and if the ground was an eligible receiver he would be the most accurate passer in the NCAA because he loves throwing the football straight into the dirt (if you watched the UCLA game you know what I'm talking about). I'm sure Motion and other Vols haters are glad to hear this but people here in Knoxville and East Tennessee have for the most part given up on this team and Fulmer. Yes, the Vols and the fans were in this same situation last year but the difference was we had a capable QB and David Cutcliffe (who I would love to see get Fulmer's job but he won't take it due to their being friends). It has gotten so bad that the local radio stations are trying to pawn off tickets to the Northern Illinois game next weekend which normally all Vols games are sellouts. Sad indeed but things will improve....hopefully.
Well the Athletics Department will probably give you your wish but as ticket sales keep hitting the crapper things will change. Fulmer better pray he somehow beats Auburn this weekend.
Fulmer steps down as UT Head Coach per Radio report........................... Fulmer has accepted the position as director of FEMA as offered by President Bush. Bush said he offered him the position because after Saturdays game he had never seen 100,000 people evacuate so quickly from an area.
