• Although some raised concerns about Dolphins center Mike Pouncey’s shotgun snaps as a senior at Florida, new Temple coach and former UF offensive coordinator Steve Addazio said that issue “is the most overblown thing. I think he had only three errant snaps on the season.” Addazio told Miami people that Pouncey is so talented “he could play right tackle without a doubt,” though that’s not the plan. … With Jake Long and Vernon Carey at tackle, and Richie Incognito and Pouncey at two interior spots, Miami will have John Jerry, Nate Garner and perhaps a free agent guard compete for the fifth starting offensive line job. Addazio was pretty much run out of town .A lot of the Gators offensive woes were blamed on him last year. And he is fibbing about the snaps .There were 12 bad snaps in the first game alone .To be fair they werent all Pounceys fault as the QB Brantley was not catching the shotgun snaps as he was pulling away, something the more athletic Tebow was able to do. I dont think it will be a problem in the pros
I agree with you. Dude is solid and athletic, that's for sure. I still wish that we got Ponder, and I do think that we would have taken him if he were available. That being said, Henne has caught an awfully large amount of flack- some deserved and some questionable. I'm curious to see what he'll do with a stable offensive line and with the WR core, especially with Marshall working on his speed and Gates bringing his to the table- love that pick. Still curious as to what Thigpen can offer if given the chance, dude has some talent to work with. My call for this year- John Beck steps up to the table for Washington and justifies his 2nd rd pick. He had talent 4 years ago and he has talent now. As things stand now I wish that he were still on our roster competing for the starting job this year.
