Did you not read one thing that I wrote or is reading comprehension not your strong suit? I'll try to type a little slower so you can keep up. Like I said, if you think Fitzpatrick starting is an indictment on Tua and his wasted pick Azz then you are a lost pup in the world of football, you need to rethink the process and figure it out all on your own, you can do it..:)

Donovan McNabb didn't start his first game, that was Doug Pederson.

Phillip Rivers waited two years

Daunte Culpepper waited for a year

Some of y'all just don't like Tua and are using this boost your agenda towards proving your point/predictions. It's not uncommon for rookies to sit and learn. Even high draft picks wait. I'm willing to bet we see Tua fairly soon anyway. By mid October probably.

I'll second the wasted pick aspect but I'd also say his winning or not winning the job right away isnt a proof of it.

What is the scientific basis for a top 5 pick? Is there a sudden drop off starting at pick #6?
What is the history of top 5 QB picks? Do game 1 starters have a better history of production over QBs who don’t start game 1? If so by how much and what is the variation?

Believe me I read what you said, and treated it as unscientific drivel that deserved to be mocked.

What you’re missing is if a quarterback is drafted #1 overall, the drafting team is the worst team in the league. That team has so many more problems than just a quarterback. To take that quarterback, toss him in the game, behind a makeshift offensive line, underneath usually a new head coach or new OC is extremely risky. That drafted quarterback had the benefit of a great college OL and a great college coaching staff...otherwise he and that team wouldn’t have excelled and made said quarterback that valuable. He played in an environment that allowed him to flourish.

A quarterback drafted that high and tossed to the wolves rarely results in him able to transition to the pro level.

Lol @ talking about Marino going at 27. He dropped that far because of the off the field rumors, cocaine, etc. He was going to be a top pick prior to the rumors.

This is a ridiculous argument. If I had it my way Tua wouldn't even see the field until a few games in for mop up duty. I don't want him starting at all until next year.

I pretty much agree with you Tin but truthfully, win lose or draw is like to see Tagovailoa finish the season at week 10 or 11...unless by some crazy miracle we’re in playoff contention with Fitzpatrick

I don't think it'll be miraculous for the team to still be in playoff contention after week 10. In fact I think they'd have to do miraculously poorly to be out of playoff contention by then. They'd probably have to be somewhere around 2-8 or worse for that to happen, and I wouldn't put any money on that. This team isn't going 2-8 over its first 10 games.

I get that and you can make a good argument either way. I just think it's silly to say we drafted this guy in the top 5 so we have to start him now! No we don't. The pro game is way different than college and we aren't competing for a SuperBowl anyway this year. Get him some end of game snaps and get him acclimated this year. Toss him the keys to the franchise next year. We will be further ahead and so will he.

I don't disagree with you. I think the Defense alone is going to be way better than most people think and that will be enough to keep us in games. We do have a really tough opening schedule and we have a young team that did not get the same kind of training this year that they normally would have. We are going to start in a hole compared to the teams we are facing. That said if we can come out of the first 8 games around .500 the schedule opens up on the backside for us and we could make the playoffs. Just need that O line to gel quickly and grow up fast!

Yea I agree with all of that. The only other “if” situation I would include would be how Marino got his start over Woodley...if were losing a game THAT badly, put Tagovailoa in and if he soars then hand him the keys

Have you even seen our schedule? We can conceivably be 2-3 to 0-5 during our first 5 games and 5-5 by week 10.

No one loves the Dolphins more than me but to realistically think we’re going to finish the season better than 8-8 is a pipe dream...crack pipe that is

I thought what you meant above is that it would be miraculous for the team not to be eliminated from playoff contention by game 10. What I meant was only that the odds are against the team's having that kind of record (2-8 or so) by that time. They aren't that bad in my opinion. They're very likely to still be in playoff contention -- mathematically speaking -- just after game 10.
