Meh...can't be accurate. It's another of those early depth charts that don't really mean much, at least for us.
Early depth charts rarely place rookies properly, so it's not overly surpising that Bobby McCain is still low. The only thing that really sticks out to me now is CJ Mosley at third string DT behind Anthony Johnson.
Damn, Parker already slotted as Jennings backup. I'd be stunned for McDonald to make it over Preston or Hazel either for the 53.
I'm pumped about that 2nd string defensive line, I'm ready to see them in live action. Also Gerell Robinson slotted at the 3rd TE is interesting.. gonna have to keep an eye on him Thursday night then again at practice on Sunday.
Robinson's interesting. Essentially, he was Gator Hoskins' replacement last year and I liked Gator. IIRC, Robinson had a TD catch in the scrimmage and I feel like his name pops up in camp reports more frequently than Lynch, Stoneburner and Semisch. That said, it wouldn't be surprising to me if Miami's 3rd TE is on someone else's roster right now.
Make no mistake, Jamil Douglas is ahead of Dallas Thomas. And Brice McCain is not on the 4th team. I like how everyone here is cognizant of what the first depth chart actually is.
This is not the official depth chart obviously. This is good to see how the team is progressing. I would like to see how this would look in about a month or so. I do have a few favorites I'd like to see in certain places.
That is so true. We are a much stronger team even though the season hasn't started yet. I could just tell. Know what I mean?
we just cut 2nd stringer tyler mcdonald.. this is an outrage.....why the hell wasn't I notified about these things.
He's definitely trending upward, I saw him flash a lot at camp the days I was there along with Fede. I know the beat guys have been saying he was pushing Mosley for 2nd string.. but like everyone has said this depth chart doesn't mean a whole lot if anything, we'll get a better picture once the preseason games get rolling. I just thought I'd post it since it's the first one the Dolphins have shared so we can look back and compare it later.
We claimed Cone off of waivers IIRC so him being at the bottom was probably more about timing than the plan moving forward.
It's a really good sign that the front office and coaching department are working together. The fact they both found and realized Suh should be starting is awesome. [/sarcasm]
I'm starting to think C.J. Mosley might be in some jeopardy given what yours and others reports on Anthony Johnson have been. Coupled with the fact that Philbin hinted that Terrence Fede may get some looks inside (nice call, CK), maybe they only keep 8 D-linemen this year instead of 9.
