I was going to go, but my family has already made plans, so will be going on another day. Was really looking forward to going, but I guess I dont wear the pants in the family
...there are some Training Camp reporter badges to be had, and your brothers and sisters here would hold you up in high regard... so have fun and take notes for us!!
Sadly, I can no longer attend TC sessions...(no, I'm not dead, I just don't live locally any longer)...but I can't wait for our 'reporters' to let us know how things are shaping up... Are you ready for some football ??????
We have had some good reporting from our family here on TC in the past, and I have no doubt we will again this TC. And we are ALL very grateful to those who do. Marty, you should hand out some cookies along with the badges. I am SO ready for some football!
looking forward to any reports that come in. edit: especially any homers that come in and post and say we're gonna win the super bowl in training camp
Also for you guys that wanna keep up on up-to-the-minute information, the beat writers will be blogging/updating from training camp. You can follow them on: Omar Kelly Mike Berardino Armando Salguero Sun Sentinel Blog w/ Omar & Mike Dolphins in Depth (Armando Blog)
one reason i really look forward to getting older...when i can retire, and have nothing to do but take care of my health, spend time with the family, and spend aug through march in miami, watching my phins. ill be at those practices every day
Cant wait to get the reports - on the west coast all we hear about is the crappy Niners and raiders crap. I'm soo excited for FB season.
Just got back. Forgot to take a pad but i'll do the best I can off the top of my head. As far as the QB's go, Henne really stood out to me. He was throwing some nice looking crisp balls on target. Pat was also looking pretty good. He hit a couple deep out patterns on the spot with some good velocity on the ball. One thing I noticed at least early on with White was that he looked a little nervous going through his reads in the 7 on 7's. Pennington was business as usual, looked very comfortable going through his reads and hitting his targets. The first team O line looked pretty good, especially Smiley, Long, and Grove. That left side was looking tough. The receivers were really fun to watch, that kid Anthony Armstrong looked to be running some nice routes, he seemed to get in and out of his breaks pretty easily. Davone Bess was great, he just doesn't drop balls. Patrick Turner looks really good running routes, he is just so fluid for a guy his size, he caught the ball well, and ran well after the catch on some bubble screens. There were a couple plays where Ginn actuall threw the ball on an option type play. One of if not the biggest catch of the day was made by Brandon London, he was doubled and still came down with the ball, despite the defensive pass interference. Ronnie was looking great. He was running well and he is just a specimen. He can't have more than 6% body fat, he is just all muscle. Ricky and Cobbs were looking good as well. As far as defense goes, there were doing drills on the far side of the field, so the only time I got to see them was mostly with the 7 on 7's. JT looked great, doesn't look like he missed a step. Eric Green played opposite of Will Allen with the 1st team, but he really didn't stand out to me in a good way. He seemed to get beat more often than not off the line. Sean Smith on the other hand is just too much talent to keep off the field. His size and length give him great positioning on receivers. One of the more fun match ups was Sean Smith on Turner. As far as the D-line, not too many guys stood out; but one person I really noticed but in a negative way, was Tony McDaniel. He wasn't getting low enough off the snap and basically was just stood up a lot. Im going to try and let everything marinate for a little while. Hopefully I can remember more info in time. I will be going back soon though, I will bring a pad next time! Oh and I stayed after and got some autographs, a lot of the guys were really nice about it.
I'll be going to a lot of the weekday 5 o'clock practices. Anyone know how long those practices last?
Thanks brother Nolephin....very very well done. Let us know as many of us are living vicariously directly through you.
