In the last few days, firefox has started behaving strangely. Whenever I'm clicking a searched item in Google, it always sends me to a forwarded page and not the link I'm looking for. I know the links are right though bc I copied and pasted them from the search.

It's also doing the same thing when I click on different menu items on sites like this one.

    Anyone else having these issues?

Sounds like spyware to me. What sites are they taking you to?

Almost like referral sites. They have links to what I was searching for, but they aren't the sites I'm clicking.

Basically, when I click the search results, I get forwarded to a different site.

you try ad-aware and avg? that's the first thing i would do. reg editors won't fix firefox acting that way.

another thing is to google search the things that firefox is doing, maybe the site it's taking you to, and see what people say about it. usually there are removal tools out there for the specific mal-ware things like trojans, or worms.

google search "ad-aware download." it's a program that looks for adware/spyware/malware and removes it.

avg is the anti-virus program i use. if you want it google seach "avg free download." it's free and i like it more than norton, mcafee, and avast.

Yup, I use both, as well as MalwareBytes.

Slick, do you notice any new additions to the toolbar? I had a similar issue with a FireFox addon (Fast Dial) a while back, I had to uninstall it and wait for them to fix it.

I haven't seen any new add-ons L2G. Firefox really hasn't been worth the hassle IMO.

I'm trying Ad-ware right now and it's scanning my whole PC. Looking like it's found a few things so hopefully I can rip those out without $$$.

Really? I think FF is actually pretty user friendly and has better protection than IE, JMO. :confused2:

I agree with Byroan, sounds like spyware of some kind, ad-aware should find it and fix the issue.

Well, I used Ad-ware and it did take out some spyware.

I'm still having the same issues though so idk what the problem is.

ComboFix did it! I probably had to restart and shutdown my computer around 80 times, but it did the trick!

Thanks to everyone who helped. You guys are the ****!
