Considering the QB 'no man's land' the Dolphins were in with Cutler etc. it was easy to see Fitzpatrick as one more J.A.G.

But at this point I think Fitz has earned his place as a legit Dolphins QB.

Even if it is to play Qui Gon Fitz to Obi Wan Tagobi.

I'd wear that jersey with pride.

When Fitz is good he is good, and then he's not anymore. Dude plays with heart and I'm glad he's here but appreciate him while we can because we know it's fleeting.

I'm not falling in love. Just acknowledging that he has made a solid, positive contribution to this team, and at a crucial time of rebuild. He might just be the best placeholder/transition QB we could have asked for.

The good thing about our situation is that we dont really have high pressure currently. If he craps the bed it's fine for us long term.

Fitzpatrick just vaulted himself among the league leaders in passing efficiency:

Fitz might be challenging Pennington for most beloved QB rental. Pennington brought an unexpected winning season but Fitz has brought energy during an otherwise patience-trying rebuild.

This is playing out exactly how I said it would all offseason..

Keep it up Fitz..I’m happy for both Fitz and our franchise qb.

While I’m happy with how Fitz is playing overall this season, to quote Harvey Keitel as Mr Wolf in Pulp Fiction, let’s not start ....... just yet.

While I expect us to win against the Jets...and we SHOULD, we all know Fitzpatrick has an issue with consistency. When he’s hot, he’s hot and when he’s not he’s...fans of his teams past have contemplated hari kari.

The thing we need to be looking for here is consistency. Chan Gailey called a good game last week. The offensive line executed beautifully; receivers were getting separation and Fitz threw some spot on balls. This is what we need to be looking for again against the Jets.

The Jets are 0-5, they’re desperate and as much as I hate to say it, we all know the Jets are a thorn in our side. They always have been. If we execute with the same precision against the Jets and maul them as we did the 49ers, I think we can at least pop a viagra but until we beat a GOOD team, and we were close against the Seahawks, we all need to follow Mr Wolf’s advice

Keep in mind that Fitz has consistency issues in games we're trailing and he has to become Brett Favre, a guy who has records for comeback wins and total interceptions. If the defense can't hang and you're putting that pressure on the QB, bad things happen....that doesn't mean the QB sucks or is suddenly someone completely different. He's been the same guy all year long and he's throwing into some extremely tight windows. Some of those passes will be picked- it's a foregone conclusion.

Winning football games at any level comes down to winning in the trenches.

Again, I'm not attempting to suggest that Fitz is the future. Just pointing out that he's proving to be a great temporary addition on multiple fronts. Great transition QB for us.

Oh no doubt!! The TEAM is the most important thing and if the team continues to show consistent improvement...shows consistency, we're going to be well on our way!

Man, that hurt to read....poor guy. His honesty makes me like him even more though and I hope he adjusts quickly to the new role. I'm being serious when I say that he's been one of my favorite Dolphin players ever....just pure class and such a great influence in the room.

It's such a shame Shaffer leaked it and didn't let Fitz have a day or two to prepare for the new role- purely a <word I can't say here> move.
