Awesome. This may be in vein, but I am hoping that "World of Versus" will pay some kind of homage to the previous trailers somehow, given its name of "Versus". Regardless, the premise of this game is interesting to say the least. I also like to add that Noctus's older character design is awesome. I wish it had more screen time than the final chapter. I don't know any other game where the storyline somewhat disappointed me (probably because of the trailers), yet I still love this much. Maybe because of the Pitioss Dungeon, probably the most epic dungeon I have ever experienced. That dungeon in itself made this game worthwhile, lol.
The fan theory is that it's an alternate/dream world (similar in premise to the Platinum Demo) based on the original Versus XIII world concept.
I wasn't able to find the special dungeon, or complete Castlemark Tower (I think that I broke it, by leaving and coming back again). I'll try again much later, when they are done with the DLC and any other additions to the game, when I do a second playthrough.
Dungeons reset eventually, though you have to wait a while, at least a few in game days. I think it's more like a couple of in game weeks, honestly. If the special dungeon you're referring to is Pitioss, you need the Regalia Type F to reach it (and a few other places that aren't as special.) When I replay this game, and eventually I will, it'll be on the PC. Probably in 2018.
Agreed, but I don't see how it works in the context of what FF15 became. It also doesn't fit the leaked description, IMO: "Unannounced expansion, World of Versus to be unveiled at E3 2017 (release Q1 2018). Expect this to be of a much darker tone than the base game. Covers the demons Noctis faces during {SPOILER REDACTED}. This is the Versus world, the world of dreams that Noctis can enter in his slumber. Themes of loss and tragedy will be developed and expanded upon." This does NOT sound like a remake or reissue of Versus XIII to me. It sounds like a recycling of the name Versus, meaning "against", without any relation to FF Versus XIII. It honestly sounds to me like a DLC that focuses on combat during the {SPOILER} section towards the end. Though I suppose we will see. If it's important enough to be announced at E3 and take a year to develop, it could very well be significant. It also sounds a hell of a lot like the Platinum Demo. "This is not a dream, this is real. In the world of your dreams, you are king."
I have left and returned to Castlemark multiple times. It is all about choosing the correct floor platform combination to reach the final boss. If you choose incorectly, you will return to the big room and fight an increasing amount of demons. The hidden dungeon is located behind a hole in the wall in one of the rooms near the large room. I haven't done it myself yet, but lets say that you won't be able to use items.
The London Philharmonic Orchestra performed selected songs, this one with Yoko Shimomura herself, and its pretty good.
Yeah, I went through that process at Castlemark several times. Very nearly died if not for using Rammuh at just the right time. After three or four game days had passed, and I was out of just about all supplies, I left having not completed it. After that, any time I would go back, any of the platforms just took me to the same place, where I would fight a Red Giant and some lesser enemies and that would be it. No resolution to the quest. Did it over and over. Found the hidden hole that lead to the locked door. Never found out how to open all of those.
1) You have to complete all the dungeons. 2) There is a special quest you need to do to see this women to obtain a key that open all of the hidden dungeons. So far I have done 3 of them.
Ezma at Hunter HQ has the key. You need to be in chapter 15, beat all the dungeon bosses, then use Umbra to go back to the main continent. Speak to Ezma and she'll give you the key.
Episode Gladiolus is about 2-3 hours long, but unlocks a new game mode when beaten. The March patch will revise Chapter 13 with a new Ignis/Gladio route, will introduce new cutscenes with Emperor Aldercapt and Ravus, and improves the Ring of the Lucii spells.
Probably not. You'll likely have to do a New Game +. Though I'd wait for future patches, when more cutscenes get added to NG+.
Fired up the game for old time's sake and fought the Behemoth boss in the timed quest. Took about 12 minutes to kill, got 30,000 EXP and 999 AP. Nice.
It was much easier than I expected. I used my wealth from the last timed quest to max my items. It also helps that my characters are 102-103 lol.
I had to leave it overnight to sleep and finish it when I woke up. 10 camp sites. If I see another Tonberry, I am going to throw my controller at my TV lol. Now I have to figure out what to do with 2000+ AP lol
I'll get that next. I ended up maximizing Gladio's survival skill to accumulate coins. And I got a bunch of small stuff. I should be able to get AP quickly. I critical with warp strike every time, and every kill with warp strike gets 1 AP. Plus I get AP and EXP for car ride and chocobo rides. And of course the next timed quest.
Good Old Setzer. I honestly have no memory of what happened in the story of the opera. Just that it was unique, crazy, and innovative.
https://gamerant.com/final-fantasy-15-chapter-13-update-152/ Updates 1.06 & 1.07 are live ahead of Episode Gladio. Addition of Chapter 13, Verse 2 (alternate route featuring Gladiolus). Enhancement of Arcana spells (Alterna, Holy, Death). Announcement of winning snapshots from first photo contest (viewable at Takka’s Pit Stop in Hammerhead). Temporary conclusion of Timed Quests (will resume at a later date). Addition of two pieces from Episode Gladiolus downloadable content to music player tracklist. Addition of compatibility with Episode Gladiolus downloadable content. Various gameplay enhancements. Various bug fixes. Updated saves will not work on former versions of the game.
The playable Gladiolus segment in Chapter 13 takes its gameplay directly from Episode Gladiolus. Also, Hajime Tabata has said he'd like to make an Ardyn DLC. Perhaps this is a hint for the still-unconfirmed World of Versus?
Very curious to see the final product somewhere down the line. Really glad that they're still working on it so hard.
It's less of a game and more of a content delivery platform now. My guess is that they can do this because FF16 isn't in active development, and they're still trying to monetize FF15. I've also changed my mind on the story. There IS a story, but it's told very minimally, and you're left to infer a lot of details. I still criticize the use of loading screens to provide lore and backstory that really should be explained more directly. But with the DLC serving the purpose of filling in lore, I'm optimistic that the entire whole will be coherently told. That's still a criticism of the primary game for failing to tell a coherent and self-contained story. But there is definitely a lot going on that's only indirectly explained and left to interpretation. The FF15 Ultimania book is over 1000 pages. ONE THOUSAND PAGES. There is A LOT going on in this universe.
I actually hadn't heard of the books before. After a little research, am I right that they only were printed in Japanese?
The Ultimania series of books are the game bibles. They're compiled directly from production materials and both explain questionable things that occur in the game and also include lore or backstory that was used in production but not depicted for whatever reason. They answer a ton of questions. FF8's Ultimania resolved a lot of issues related to that game's screwed up story and actually made it sound fairly well written. Yes, they're only in Japanese, mainly because it's assumed that "oh, that would never sell anywhere else." Don't know about you, but I'd buy it. Also:
New patch is out for FFXV. So you can play chapter 13 verse 2 by selecting the new special option in the main menu. It won't count towards your level exp and you will return to the main menu when you are done. I'll post when i get the chance to play it.
Episode Gladiolus was a lot of fun but very quick. It has an awesome teaser for Episode Prompto at the end. Chapter 13 verse 2 is cool, uses the controls from Episode Gladiolus, and fills a few blanks to the story line. Although there is more they have to do.
I'm glad that they're working hard and being transparent about it. When they're finally done, if given the chance, I'm thinking it will all be pretty cool.
I think we'll get the rest of the blanks filled in during Episode Prompto. The DLC is structured to be released in order from having the lowest story impact to the highest. So if EG is first and has minimal story impact (which it does, it's primarily a gameplay DLC with some tidbits telling us things we've already puzzled out), EP will have a moderate story impact, and Episode Ignis will have the most story impact. Then, if the World of Versus is really a thing, and really is the Ardyn DLC, then that will have the maximum impact.
http://www.dualshockers.com/2017/04/16/final-fantasy-xii-zodiac-age-screenshots/ A bunch of new screen shots for the FF12 remaster. It looks like they've done really, really good. It looks like a high quality PS3 game from about 4-5 years ago, and not a PS2 game from 11 years back.
