They're restoring Finheaven from the most recent backup, which occurred some time in August. So, the registered accounts, post counts, Phin Dollars, avatars, everything will be as it was some time in August.
Be patient, my friends. Muck and I are working on the servers now. There is still lots to do and we are trying to be very careful not to leave any holes for hackers to crawl through
Celt, are you doing a basic restoration plus the necessary security upgrades, or will you be installing other upgrades as well? I'm sure there are new versions of the forum software FH used, for example.
There has been two upgrades to the forum software since we went down. I will be installing those before we reopen the site. We also are changing the platform for the front page and will be introducing an exciting new design for the new portal. In addition, we lost the databases for DolphinsNation and Canesheaven so will have to start those again from scratch.
Great news on both counts. I thought the most recent front page design looked pretty good, so I'm excited to see what you guys are planning.
Celt...do we have any clues on who perpetraded this heinous crime...... Once we find out......I will be sending the "enforcer" after em....
We pretty much took e107 to its limits and had the developers asking us how we did things but, though it was a fast platform, it was not very flexible. e107 is not even at version 1.0 yet.
damn, and i was in the top 12 of richest finheaven members. oh well, i built my fortune once...i can build it again!
Well I personally could not hold out any longer, I had to register here. I tell ya though, it has been so weird not being able to go to finheaven the last few months. FH has been apart of my life since 2000. All I have to say is that the more things change, the more things stay the same . . . except instead of people bashing Wanny and Fiedler they are bashing Cam and Randy. lol. Anyway, its does a heart good to see Celt, Muck, Mindwarp, Crunchtime, and Grid still working hard on this site. I just hope that the main site is back up before its time for the GM league to start! Merry Christmas everyone!
Hey Grid works hard from January to March. lol. Speaking of which, Grid, sign on aim once in a while and say hi .
First, you almost had it. You mean that Griddles is "Hardly Working Mal, I might name my next kid Muckin...or Celtmuck or MalMuck....thanks guys. Although I am not nearly as active here as i was FH..I ask one thing for when we are back up......The finheaven girl of the month comes back with it
I personally thought the FH girl of the month was kind of dumb but I am likely one of the few who thought that.
How about a Fan of the Month, that way some of the better posters on FH will also be recognized along with or replace the FH Girl of the Month with the FH Fan of the Month.
I am listening bro. perhaps it could be Member of the Month? What would make a member/fan of the month in your opinion?
Yeah Member of the Month is great, the main idea would be someone who is a respectable and dedicated member to FH who stays active on the boards who can contribute to in depth draft analysis or keeps members up to date on the latest news whether it be political, gossip, science, the box office, video games and etc to keep it on an even keel. Something that will allow every dedicated member have a chance to be recognized for making FH the great site that it is.
Personally, one thing I always like about FH was the fan columns. I used to write one, but I was 13 and didnt keep up with it . . . so I was fired. The point is that it was a good learning experience for me and I would never have made it to where I am if not for it. Plus it is nice to go to the main site and see someone you respected has written a new column. For me that was always a guy named Miguel Lorenzo or Mig182930 (something like that) and on the Arkansas equal to FH, there is a guy on there that does the same sorta thing. I also like the MotM idea, and I would like to see the fin girl of the month continue, if only to see just how many more you can find! Also forgot to shoutout to inFins, NJ, and Az (I dont know if he is a mod/admin, but I just can't wait to get a hold of him in the GM League this year.)
I'll work on that lol. And I work hard from February to about May... very excited about this years GM League. But as far as the site goes, it's all about Celtkin, Muck, Warp, and those guys... And enforcer, be nice.
AJ sold the site to a South Florida businessman a little over a year ago. With all his work and school demands, he couldn't keep up with everything.
Oh god he is back, how the hell are you Clump? How is Buffalo treating you? Your boy Everret is making one hell of a comeback, really amazing and great story. Perfect Christmas story. Have a wonderful Christmas!
