Felony charge against Randy Starks of Miami Dolphins reduced to misdemeanor - ESPN
Prosecutors have dropped felony charges against Miami Dolphins defensive end Randy Starks stemming from a May traffic altercation with police.
Court records show charges of aggravated battery were reduced Tuesday to the misdemeanor of culpable negligence. The original charge carried a possible prison sentence of five years, but misdemeanors usually do not result in jail time.

rafaelforum_veteranIt was almost a foregone conclusion. It seemed evident early on (and it has been noted by several people on this site) that the cop did his job poorly that evening.

From what I read I thought he should do some jail time, 30 days or so.

The prosecutor would/should have never been able to get jail time. It was a misdemeanor traffic offense blown out of proportion.
PhinsRockluxury_boxGood, we need Starks on the DL. And I see no reason for giving the guy jail time for being stupid and overloading a freightliner while driving what, 15 mph? And sober to boot.
