I think if Brett were to come back in say February or March and go through all offseason workouts, OTA's, MiniCamp, Training Camp, etc. and such it would be great to have him back and he'd be the best option. If he wants to come back in July, then yes its a blessing in disguise because he would screw us. I've long been the captaion of the S.S. Clemens ship, I can't wait to see what he can do with a team full of talent instead of having to deal with the 2007 disaster. A team that went 4-12 that BTW went 3-4 in his seven starts (I don't count his 8th one, he was knocked out on the first play).
This is Favre's MO ... Tell the team he is retiring, and then have a change of mind in August, shortly before the start of training camp. I won't believe this until he's inactive and not playing Week 1. Until then, there's a real chance he changes and mind and comes back.
you KNOW thats gonna happen. "im retirin boys." then come july..."aww shucks, i just got a hanckerin to get out there n compete." the worst thing favre could do is say he's quitting, cause you KNOW he's gonna mess with them and drag them through the mud after the draft...and Woody's gonna put his new coach and GM in that hard place...and make them cater to this schmuck...even if they dump a first rounder into a qb.
I hear that Detroit is looking for a hero and, push come shove, the Pats might need a veteran stand in if Brady is not ready.
What about the reports that have said the Jets said NO to Shanahan and Marty Schottenheimer? Lets be fair here, Desides, lets not post one side to each story. http://nyj.scout.com/2/826800.html Truth is nobody knows what is true and what isn't true with the Jets and Cowher / Shanahan / Schottenheimer.
