We get your point bro, but you are missing ours. Please read the thread again. Im in total agreement that Fasano has been great, and that he is not an A. Gates, yet, and that he still has a lot to prove. With that being said, so far he has proved a lot, but consistency is the only question now. Hopefully he continues to shine for us.
David Martin has been as surprising as Wilford has been disappointing, where was that Te last season? I was pretty sure D. Martin would have been cut this offseason with Sean Ryan being kept, the Staff did a decent job picking him over Ryan and Peele.
I'll take 60 catches, 800 yards from a TE. At least we know that Henne will have a security blanket if or when he becomes a starter. The fact that we do have somebody in the receiving game is a positive considering our receivers are poor.
But I'll take him over a lot of the TE's out there right now. The guy is our only endzone threat and probably the only receiving threat right now. I wouldn't be surprised if he leads us in yards this season considering how piss poor the WR's have been. He's on pace for 800 yards and that includes the Arizona game where the OL wasn't holding the defense past One-Mississippi.
Gates 2007 ypg was 91 before Chambers got there. After? 43.7. This year? 50 or so. Coincidence? Way to early to compare their ypg after 3/4 games. Gates of course is better but Fasano so far isn't chopped liver. Him and Martin will serve us well in their roles in my opinion. Remember traditionally the TE doesn't get much love in Henning's offense. Is this the system or talent at TE during his years?
Henning ran the one back for years, but he did have a much better Wr corps to work with then we have in miami. The Chargers for a couple of years had no decent Wr's their offense was limited to middle of the field passing to Gates and LT, it reminds me very much of our offense at the moment.
i'm going to temper my excitement on this guy. keep in mind he dropped a huge goose-egg in week 2, although i don't fault him for that by any stretch. i agree he's got the talent, i just wish we'd involve him more. save for that touchdown catch on the pass from Ronnie, he had very little involvement this last week in actual yardage production. week 1 is when he really shined. i hope we do get him more involved though, b/c as i said, he's definitely got the talent.
