Your right about the loyalty, contract-wise. The disloyalty I have a problem with is that they gave this guy their word that he would be the starting QB and now Favre is back again. Why do you think they owe him a lot? Hey, they were being loyal to him, he said he wanted to come back, they said "ok, hold the clipboard for $13 million". They gave him the option of being part of the team again. He then said " no, I can't be a backup" and eventually ended up saying he wanted to play for the VIKINGS. The teams hated rival for years. They then said that they would attempt to trade him to a contender like Tampa and he made a big fuss over it, saying it wasn't cool weather. They gave him the option of being with the team and he turned it down. They then gave him the option of being traded to a contender and he turned it down. What else the hell do you want? Favre needs to be happy that they are listening to him. I can't tell you why they don't like Favre, I don't have that evidence. What I did hear was a report on Cold Pizza I believe saying that that at one point, half of the team wasn't pleased with Favre coming back and that 70% of the fans turned on Favre. That report was over a month ago, things may have changed. I'm not saying they have but its possible.
Alen we don't disagree on Favre being a diva...he is. I think the FoxNews interview and his insistence on playing against the Packers within the division are his diva moves. However this all goes back to my point that they should have given Favre an ultimatum...either play as a backup or get traded. If he wasn't given any room to wiggle I think he would have stayed retired or would have accepted a trade. The Packers have all the power here and have goofed. Now all this doesn't change my opinion that they should have just welcomed him back and I don't have a problem with his coming back. I still think its a Ted Thompson power move.
Well we can officially rule out the Packers' crock that the Vikings tampered with Favre. Now maybe all of that nonsense will end. Link (front page breaking news): http://www.nfl.com/?campaign=ec0005
