When a waiver claim goes through (ie, you are awarded a player), you get moved to the bottom of the waiver list... so yes, you are getting dropped to the bottom because you make moves each week.

There are different waiver systems, you can see which one your league uses under League > Scoring & Settings. One thing to keep in mind is if there's a player you feel won't get claimed or that it's not important if you get your first or second option, you can wait until after waivers clear and grab them as free agents so your waiver priority isn't affected. For example, as a Sturgis owner I will wait until waivers clear to pick up my bye week kicker this coming week.

Ok I looked it up. It's "continual rolling week". Each successful request moves a manager to the end of the list. That's retarded. fuggin bologna that I'm last or second to last on the priority list every week just b/c I pick up players on a weekly basis while other GMs opt to do nothing, and it's not like I'm getting first dibs on top players; if I add a player it's because no one else claimed him, plus I started the year last on the waiver list.

There are some systems where it resets every week depending on standings. If no other owners are really using waivers then it won't matter much but you don't want one person claiming the best waiver guy every week, with continual rolling you're forced to think if the player is worth losing your priority. I wasted my priority on Eddie Royal and then lost out on Edelman and Amendola, did get Le'Veon Bell though thankfully.

I'm just not a fan of that. I think it's an unfair system. No GM should have to spend a season without a chance for a high priority claim just b/c he makes claims on a weekly basis. I mean, isn't being last on the priority list for one week enough punishment?

I kinda like it myself but that's cool. I would agree with you if it wasn't for the ability to bypass waivers with free agency.

How do you bypass waivers? If you don't put in a bid but someone else does, you don't get the player, right? That's not an actual solution if you need a player who has a decent chance of getting claimed. For instance, I'm dealing with injuries plus two bye weeks so I can't afford to see what's left over after waivers clear; however I've been last on waivers from day 1 so I can't grab a long term solution b/c those guys get snapped up well before my claim. That means I gotta look for matchups using second tier guys, which means I'm looking at using waiver claims on a weekly basis, which means I gotta stay last on waivers and miss out on Danny Woodhead who was my week 4 priority, Knowshown Moreno week 2, Julian Edelman week 1, Julius Thomas week 1, and I'll probably miss out on Percy Harvin who some poor shlep had to drop this week. Sorry but I don't see an argument that rationalizes a GM never having a high claim.

If people are active on the waiver wire in your league it just takes a week or two not using it before you have the first claim on a player. There's a strategy involved and on fantasy forums you might see questions like, "I have top waiver priority, is X player worth it?" I try to be stingy with waivers and use it for someone I really like or that I'm afraid will be taken. For instance I claimed Le'Veon Bell after he showed he was healthy and likely the main RB in Pittsburgh. To get a replacement for Sturgis this week I'll take my chances with free agency and better my priority. Heck, I'll do the same for my bye week QB because I don't see someone like Weeden being taken and if he is then I'll use Henne. I can see your frustration and we all have different preferences. I don't know who you're claiming and what your league is doing but it seems you might be using the waiver wire too much. You say you've had to use second tier guys, which I assume aren't being heavily sought after so there's no need to try to claim. For bye week fill-ins it might be better using free agency and using waivers for only guys you think will have an impact on your team. Like I said, it's really hard to comment too much without seeing what's going on in your league. You might just have bad luck. :lol:

I agree, I'm the same way when it comes to waivers.

You've got to be smart with waivers. I save my waiver for someone I truly need instead of picking up players all the time. Some idiot last year dropped AP because he had a bye week. He then had 4 150+ yard games and I won the league because I had the first waiver.

This year, I got the Chiefs D and Matt Prater because I was 1st in line. The last two weeks I've put up the most points and barring injury, feel like I have a great chance of winning my league.

I was hoping to get more for Julius Thomas but as a Matt Ryan owner I just traded him for Rivers. Witten is an every week starter for me and the other owner has Peyton with not much at TE so fair trade, though everyone in his division is now screwed. I get Rivers to fill-in for Ryan this week on his bye and if Ryan struggles without Julio (fantasy wise) then I have insurance. For a second there I thought I was going have to start Weeden or Henne this week...

I'm with you on both. My thinking is Broncos game gets out of hand so there's more running than last week and this week the WRs get the touchdowns. I also think Pitt puts together a better game than what they have been off their bye with Bell healthy and a rookie QB going against them.

I just wouldn't feel comfortable sitting Cameron, he's been a stud (besides last week) which I say is because he's QB went down in the middle of the game. I have Cameron as well so I might be a little biased lol

I don't mind a Denver blowout b/c that could mean Manning wanting to make sure everyone gets a piece of the action which could mean guaranteed points for Julius. At least with Denver you know there's gonna be an ass load of passing TDs scored.

Ok guys, need some help in a PPR league. We also get bonus pts for plays over 40 yds, TDs over 40 yds, and receiving games over 150 yds (5 extra pts for 40yd+ gain, +1 if a TD, an extra 10 pts if you hit 150).

Now I am having trouble picking 3 of the 4 below (already playing Torrey Smith in one spot)
Randall Cobb @ Bal
Justin Blackmon @ Den
Julius Thomas @ Jax
Antonio Gates @ Indy

I think I want to play Cobb for sure (I'm 99.99% sure I am playing him). So the real issue is whether to play both TEs or just one and Blackmon. I'm leaning towards Blackmon because I expect Jax to throw a lot, and I lean towards Gates because he is River's biggest threat. But Julius Thomas always seems to do well, but I worry he won't get it much because of the blowout that may come.

Help please! I need this win as it's #3 vs #4 (I'm 3), and he already got 17 from Chicago's defense. :pray:

Id go cobb blackmon and thomas. Blowouts be damned im permanently done with gates. I simply never trust him to make it through a game healthy. More importantly the colts d has been good and gates hasnt been scoring tds. Blackmon averaged 5 catches and 80 yards with henne last year and in a game where they figure to be down big the yards may come in bunches late.

I agree with Boik on those 3.

Well Torrey Smith is killing me, and with Cobb getting hurt he will probably end up as the wrong play too. :(

Thank god I played Blackmon, as he gave me 43 pts. I'm losing 108.2-93.1, but still have Alfred Morris and Phillip Rivers, so I'm feeling pretty good (he has no one left).

Well I hope Rivers throws up a goose egg since I started the Colts D in 1 of my pay leagues (crappy matchups elsewhere))....If Morris wants to run for a 150 and 2 scores thats fine.
