I confess that I rarely go to the moves and opt to wait for them to come to the small screen. I watched a small clip from Jerry Maguire on ET and realized that I have never seen it. I am not a big Tom Cruise fan so I'm not sure I am missing much but it brings me to ask the question; Which famous movies have you never seen?
titanic watched like 3 seconds of it and thought it was horrible. king kong the remake watching it now though......
casablanca... but I hear I'm not missing much It took me a looooong time to see Rocky too.... but I wasn't missing much their either.
Never saw the godfather & A Beautiful Mind and Sleepless in Seattle (i just thought about that the other day when i saw it advertised) i guess if you want to count those
Psicho... and I was a film student. So that is like awful right there. But in all fairness I have seen the scene about 50 000 000 times so I figure like the whole thing is ruined for me.
Havent seen Rear Window (own it so it's just a matter of time) Close Encounters of the Third Kind 2001 A Space Odyssey many others I really need to see but those were the first to come to my mind. Most of my list would be old classic movies, I'm pretty up to date on newer ones.
why? I don't get it 1. you can't understand a word he's saying (except for Adrienne!!!! Must be why the line is so iconic). 2. his girlfriend is one of the dreariest sods in film history. 3. the general plot is passable, you keep watching thinking it'll be worth it as he surely has to win in the end... 4. he doesn't
I've never watched it. My wife, my mom, my daughters, have all watched it. But there is not one part of me that wants to see it. However, I did watch "A Night To Remember" a long time ago. If you aren't familiar with it; it was a '58 black and white movie about the Titanic. Excellent movie. And not a love story, either. Nonetheless, it was still moving. Worth watching, too.
For anyone who hasn't seen the two Godfathers both will be on A&E tomorrow from 4 PM EST to 12 AM EST.
Fan or not of Tom Cruise, you HAVE to see Jerry McGuire. It's an awesome movie. I have yet to see Gladiator. And everyone says it's great.
I actually watch movies quite a bit of the time. The wife and I went through the entire AFI 100 list a few years back, so we're a bit more well rounded when it comes to viewing habits. About the only "famous" movie that comes to mind that I've never seen is Driving Miss Daisy ... also haven't seen Million Dollar Baby, but that's not as famous as the other.
The opening crane/dolly shot or the shower shot? I swear that opening crane/dolly shot impresses me more than the shower one.
1. you ain't from around here are ya? 2. i have to admit, you are completely right. hint; she doesn't get any better in the subsequent Rocky flicks either. she always jumps on the bandwagon when he is about to win the fight. 3. you miss the big picture here; the plot of the movie was about overcoming fear, personal doubts, and everyone else's low expectations, and going the distance. one of the tracks on the Rocky soundtrack is even titled "going the distance." 3A. also part of the lure of Rocky is that Stallone refused to sell the rights to the movie originally because he didn't like the studio choices to play Rocky, or the "creative liberty" they wanted to take with his original screenplay. he stuck to his guns and he and the Rocky franchise are now legendary. 4. i disagree... Rocky losing the fight on a 15 round split decision was the absolute perfect way to end that movie. of course, as a kid, i was totally bummed about it.
Ive never seen Titanic in its entireity. Seen bits and pieces but never sat down and watched the whole thing. This is 100% by choice. Not only should this movie never have been made, anyone whos a fan of it (that doesnt have a vagina) should be ashamed of themselves. Once I was tipped off that it had no historical relevance to the event itself and was a love-story with...ugh, Leo, I swore never to watch the movie. Unfortunately Ive had gf's that will occasioanlly stop at the channel when it makes its rounds on the cable networks, but I usually wrestle the remote away as to not break my vow.
casablanca and citizen kane are actually kinda quick and worth watching. gone with the wind...now thats a different story. for me, Bridge on the River Kwai Wizard of OZ Cuckoo's Nest On the Waterfront. Patton those are the main ones that jump out that i need to see.
3. That may be the big picture I just wasn't a fan of how it was done. Maybe it's because I couldn't sympathise with his character... the characters were all a little sleezy for my liking. and; 4. A movie that is supposedly about overcoming the odds needs a powerful victory at the end and to me that victory needs to be in the field they were struggling with. There's a great feeling you get as an audience when that struggling character raises his/her hands for victory in the end it's what good movies like that are about... on the other hand there's nothing that brings you down faster than the "hero" who struggles so hard only to fail in the end. Give me Cinderella Man over Rocky any day of the week. Now that's a good movie.
I got a good laugh out of the ship sinking in that film... those last couple of scenes were just hilarious... or maybe that's just my evil nature
I never saw the whole star wars series. I saw about 5 minutes of the first one and deemed it dumb. Was never a big sci fi fan so maybe that explains it. Never saw the Jurassic Park movies for the same reason.
Gone with the Wind is one.I saw bits a pieces but not the whole thing. Most classic Westerns also.I never gotten in to them at all.
Nah, being Italian in Texas is like being a homosexual in a strip club. Its just pointless. And whats up with that mentor badge
