I might be in the minority, but I would like to see a fallout prequel type game. One where it starts before the nuclear holocaust and maybe you are trying to prevent the war. But then you fail and the second half of the game is surviving after everything goes to ****.

That would go against Fallout lore, because of things like House projecting that the nuclear war was inevitable and the Enclave/Vault-Tec conspiracies that are predicated on a nuclear war occurring.

Also, IMO, the appeal of Fallout is seeing how the new societies parody the old. For example, FEV was originally a parody of and reference to LA's obsession with plastic surgery.

It would be a decent mod for Fallout 4, but I don't think that would ever be an official Fallout game. There's more fun to be had by going forward in the timeline. 2320, perhaps.

Yea you make a good point. I guess not playing 1 and 2 kind of screws me up on some or the lore stuff.

I haven't played FO1 and 2 either. The House thing comes from New Vegas, the Enclave/Vault-Tec conspiracy was mentioned in FO3 and referred to in NV. The FEV thing is something you would have to play FO1 to understand... or read the Wiki. The thing about FEV is that the big bad of FO1 was creating Super Mutants in underneath a church in Los Angeles by dunking people in FEV... that joke wrote itself.

The House thing I definitely remember. The Enclave conspiracy I never got to because I never got that far in 3. I might have to get it for the new computer and finally beat it. I do remember hearing/reading about the FEV. In fact wasn't Marcus or some other mutant a hint or throwback to that?

Marcus in New Vegas was a companion in Fallout 2.

I believe that Master is mentioned in 3 and NV.

On a side note...played Dead Money. I disliked it at first, then it grew on me. Still..not a fan.

I don't think The Master is mentioned in FO3 at all. The Super Mutants there have nothing to do with him.

I agree it's an acquired taste. Really good scenario concept, but bad attempt at survival horror. Thankfully, the other 3 packs are better. Spoiler alert: Ulysses is awesome.

I would like to see The Regulators make an appearance again.

Looked it up, you're correct. FEV was mentioned, not Master.

As for the other ones, I'm sure they're cool, I hated Pitt, but the rest were cool for Fallout 3.

...even though the Alien one was kind of ridiculous.

Weren't we talking about New Vegas DLC? But yeah, I wasn't too big a fan of FO3's DLC. Broken Steel was excellent and fixed FO3's original stupid ending. The rest, eh.

Then again, Lonesome Road is so good it makes everything else look bad.

I never played the other DLC's after Hard Money. I enjoyed it, but it didn't feel like Fallout. I will say one thing, that DLC was really challenging on Hardcore mode.

Dead Money is very un-Fallout-like. The rest are good (Honest Hearts) to excellent (Old World Blues, Lonesome Road).

It's a shame I traded in my copy long ago. Plus the PS3 sucks at getting DLC

You can get the ultimate edition with all of the DLC (including the preorder packs and the Gun Runners' Arsenal) for 25 bucks or so on PS3.

FOOK, NMC's texture pack, Nevada Skies URWLified, Perk Every Level, Essential Visual Enhacements, Interior Lighting Overhaul. I also have a couple that modify missions—one will let you finish both Cass' personal quest and the Silver Rush quest (Save Cass), the other will let you talk Hanlon down if you've interrogated the Legion captive at McCarran beforehand (Hanlon Fix). Lastly, NVSE and the 4GB fix make the game much more stable and interesting.

There are some pretty interesting weapon and armor mods, like an enhanced Chinese stealth suit. I'm also trying out something called the Ninja Headband, which makes you almost game-breakingly stealthy. Since I've played through the game so many times, I don't mind breaking it.

We were. I was trying to say that the 1st DLC for FO3 sucked as well. So I'm not gonna judge lol. As for Broken Steel...yes, fav DLC by a country mile.
