You guys should stop watching fictional characters and tune in to the NFL network and watch my Carolina Panther maul the SD defense with runs down their throat, some great cutbacks by Deangelo Williams... Also this game has me more confident that the team will be just fine without Steve Smith. Also has me feeling sick for trading Thomas Davis.
I'd rather watch the Divisional Playoffs game where Carolina's run game gets hammered by a supposedly inferior Cardinal defense and they don't have the passing offense to come back.
I think pounding the rock wasnt an option after Arizona poured on 27 first half points! Thanks to a large degree to Delhomme who had one of the worst playoff games in NFL playoff history! (By the way he is gone now)
lol, well, I just hope the real Dolphins learn from that if they're going to play smash mouth football offensively. Though Hasselbeck didn't play that well either against the Cards that same year.
Hasselback has had great numbers when healthy and normally plays 2 to 3 games a year in bad elements. Delhomme had a nice regular season but also had the luxury of a great running game and two very good Wr's....truth be told Delhomme single handidly cost his team that game, Deangelo Williams still averaged over 5 YPC so the running game is in no way to blame for the loss.
when a defense forces mistakes, of course the Qb is going to look like the villain. arizona knew exactly how to deal with the panthers offense. dont blame delhomme for walking into a trap. that said, both delhomme and hasselbeck are has beens. not that delhomme was ever all that good. hasselbeck is the new marc bulger. now you see him, now you dont. or as al davis would say, "he blows total dick now, get over it."
Anytime a QB turns the ball over 6 times Im going to blame him. I dont care if its Ray Lucas or Dan Marino, you GIVE the opposing team that many gifts there is something wrong with you.
One 31 yard rush in the beginning of the game makes it under 3 YPC on the rest of the 11 carries for the remainder of the game. Under 3 YPC for a team that relies so much on it will lead to forced throws against an opportunistic defense. They still could've ran the ball better and run out the clock but Williams found no room and Panthers had no other options. They had one good but short WR (who was shut out until the last few minutes of the 3rd and 4th when the game was all but decided) and one aging WR. Sure, Delhomme cost the team the game just like Pennington cost his team the game (Granted it ain't 6 picks, 4 really) but only when the run was shut out and they couldn't do squat. They showed the problems of relying too heavily on a run game without a top receiving option that doesn't include talented tall WR's.
Muhammed was a nice big talented target for the Panthers at 6'2 he was only 77 yards away from a 1,000 yard season as the #2 WR on a team that supposedly relied on the run too much. Fact is the Panthers were a very well balancd team and had plenty of playmakers on the offense. Bottom line is Delhomme played like garbage in that game he even said so himself. I dont blame the scheme I dont blame the "lack" of playmakers around him because the stats show how good that team was last year, way too good to lose at home to even the NFC champion Cardinals. I will say the Cardinals played their best defensive game of the year but there is ZERO excuse for Delhomme's play in that game, he just stunk it up.
Old big talented target who's about a year away from retirement by now. Sure he played well but there's a reason the Panthers have been trying to find a suitable replacement when they got Jarrett. Frankly, Cardinals took out the run and dared to the passing game to beat them. Took the Panthers right out of their comfort zone. Sort of like telling a half-court team to play up-tempo. When you can't, you lose which is what happened. Delhomme made bad throws to a short WR negated by DRC, no TE help in the middle, and they didn't accept the stuff the D was giving them in short passes to Muhsin. If they go short to Muhsin, it's akin to the run game that sets their tempo. Still, had the run game been established, they wouldn't have to lean on Jake and he wouldn't have thrown so many picks. But it was and Smith couldn't get open and Muhsin was covered but had openings. Hate to say it but I agree with gish.
Jarrett was the original attempt when Muhammad first left for the Bears. And since we're splitting hairs, their 2nd attempt when they got Muhammad was DJ Hackett.
I love how so many of the posts I see in here are full of crap, period. Alot of you dont "discuss" things you bash other teams and what they do and dont do. And I abs. LOVE seeing the name of my team in the welcoming thread time and time again about how my team let a "superstar" go or was foolish not to resign this guy, on and on and on.
He left in 2004 and Jarett was drafted in 2006 but yea Im sure they were hoping for Jarett to be another Muhammed. Mushin is an old guy but his production with the Panthers has been impressive. Im just saying they were not as one dimensional as everyone likes to believe. You dont have a 1400 yard WR and nearly a 1,000 yard #2 guy without having some balance on offense. Yes, no question they were a run first offense why wouldnt they be with that amazing OL....Delhomme has lead a team to the superbowl with those two Wr's before with less talent around them. He just had a miserable game and the Cardinals came to play.
Some people love to hate bro, I mean did it ever occur to anyone you have a plan? Ecspecially when you inherit a very good team people like to critique your moves, bottom line is after its all said and done did you do what YOU wanted to do with your team. Sure I have regret's on some moves I have made but honestly you look around and really only two teams are looking great at this point...and neither of those two Gm's are worried about any other team but there own. And it shows.
He who posts this in the wrong thread: has opened the door for others to talk smack on his team because he fired first shot. I can understand how bashing your moves would be bad (I don't do it anyways) since you don't brag about your team, but when you brag about your team in that manner, you invite others to provide contradictions.
Sure they aren't as one-dimensional as the Dolphins are offensively, but it's still not enough balance to counter having one element taken away. From what I saw of the season, the run game led to the passing game. Not passing game can take over when the run game fails. You open the door and push us in, we gotta respond. Notice if you hadn't made that first bragging post referring to us, we wouldn't be critiquing your team. And we weren't (at least I wasn't) until that point. I could care less because I like what I've done for my team so far. In fact I've thanked posts by GM's in the welcoming thread (E included) for their stuff.
If bragging on my team upsets people enough to get shots fired so be it.... I dont feel like Im fighting with anyone, we are just debating opinions and I have no problem with that. I have been my own worst enemy in this league as far as mistakes so you can fire away I dont mind, I certainely have given the people that go that route plenty of ammo with the Gamble error and the two incidents where I was forced to trade away higher picks then I thought. So grab your machine guns and fire away......
You can brag on your own. Like I said before, I don't care if you brag. I thanked posts in the Welcome thread that bragged. It doesn't upset me. Just don't tell us to stop and watch. I actually sympathized with you there on the Gamble move and didn't really take any pot shots there. Of course, if you are willing to trade DeAngelo for squat, I won't fire away against you there.
if you miss and hit my balls, i will fall to the ground in pain. when i get up, i will hunt you down and scalp you with a dull knife. if you miss and hit my a-hole, i will need you to call regan for an emergency pedoanusectomy
The correct medical term is either rectopexy or lateral partial internal sphincterotomy depending on what gets damaged. And yes, they will hurt. I've seen them done. And yes, they still fart.
