In this exclusive column for Dolphins.com with Dolphin Digest editor Andy Cohen, Head Coach Tony Sparano talks about November being a crucial time for his team, starting with Sunday’s game in Baltimore.

Q. Coach, What have you stressed to your players this week?
TS: We spoke about being close and getting over the hump in some of these games. I’ve made it clear to the players that, have no doubts, we are a good football team and in order to be seen as a good football team, and taken seriously, you have to win games like this one. November is moving time. It’s not the time to stand still. The pretenders stand still in November, the contenders move on. We need to move on.

Q. Coach, can a team possibly win all of its road games in today’s NFL?
TS: It’s a difficult thing to do. Pretty difficult. It’s been done twice before. Right now we’re just worried about one game. Going into some of these stadiums, there really is a tremendous home-field advantage, so it’s so hard. I have all the confidence in the world in my team to be able to play it one game at a time.

Q. How good is the Baltimore team you are facing this week?
TS: They are a real good team, a lot along the lines of Pittsburgh, the Jets and Patriots. They are good because they have a dominant quality and that dominant quality right now is their defense. They play really well there. Offensively, their dominant quality is the way they run the ball. So they have several important things they can hang their hat on and they can win close football games because their defense can keep them in close games. In that way, they are a lot like we are.

Q. When you watch Ray Lewis on tape, what do you see?
TS: It’s hard to see a declining player, that’s for sure. He’s like a fine wine out there. He’s an aggressive, physical and emotional player. Very smart. I would love the opportunity, when this guy calls it quits, to be locked in a room with him and find out what he sees through his eyes.
