Is the Detroit press so tired of reporting the same sorry situation with the Lions every day that they've moved on to different teams' sorry situations? It's the first practice of the first days of training camp. I wouldn't put too much into it. But if this keeps going and includes Beck, then we got a problem.
Why shouldn't other cities be reporting this. I'm sure they are just reading the reports from the S. Florida hacks. In addition I see comments right here from people already deeming the OL a shambles and Beck CLEARLY being nothing but a 3rd string QB after all of 2 practices in pads. Funny stuff. Everyone needs to relax and let TC do exactly what it's meant to do. Players will start working out kinks and get ready for the season. Start talking to me after a couple preseason game performances. All this "assessment" right now is garbage.
That's like judging a movie before the opening credits show up on the screen. Patience, one will arise from three as the prophecy has stated, and the heir to throne of #13 will be born.
Thank you. Sorry about the other one. It went as a dead link when I posted the first time and then I went back and pressed it again.
I get the Detroit connection, and why the Detroit Free Press might cover the story, but ... it's a bit of a stretch. I'm sure there are some casual fans who want to see Henne succeed due to the Michigan connection. That said, this is a regurgitation of what we've seen from the local media, and nothing more. It's the second day of practice, the defense is always ahead of the offense at this point. I'll start pushing the panic button if Beck, McCown, and Henne look this ragged come the third preseason game.
training camp is going to do what it is supposed to do, and i'm sure the team will improve as the players start to jel and the system sets in. still, it is anything but confidence inspiring to read all the bad reports.
