I feel like these qb injuries just opened up a chance to target other qb's and hopefully we can find an instant impact and keeper. For the 2347903271497 time since marino left we are going through qb's like they are out of style but at this point and time i feel like that position is the piece to our puzzle. Not to put down henne too much because i do like some things about him and am willing to give him more time to develop but my gut feeling tells me he may not be able to be the #1 guy week in and week out, we need a consistent and dependable elite qb... i feel like if you showed a nonfootball fan a clip of pennington henne and thigpen, they wouldnt tell the f***ing difference, we should just have all of them wear a jersey with the same number on it and their names saying "quarterback"

So what is the reason for Jake Long being injured then?

Yeah but we're not searching for a franchise QB. We're searching for someone who we can get by with if Thigpen gets hurt. Thats a different type of search

I do not believe that everything happens for a reason. I mean I guess there is a reason for things happening but not some "higher" reason.

Sometimes things happen just to piss you off. It looks like the bladder got emptied yesterday and the team was the urinal.

I believe everything is caused, because that's just cause and effect. Not everything happens because of any higher design though. Sometimes, stuff just happens.

Look if Long is hurt at least Thigpen is in because he is a lot more mobile than anything we've had all season. Watch how he tucks and runs with it when the pocket collapses or the coverage is tight. He'll bring a different element to the offense than we're accustomed to with some reps and a gameplan around his abilities.

Everything doesn't happen for a reason, it just happens. There is no fate, especially not in the NFL.

Exactly. Karma is a fairy tale invented so people can have some sort of hope when bad stuff happens. And don't get me started on the god and prayer...

Yes, things happen for reasons, but not neccessarily a Divine reason.

Football is a violent sport if played long enough sooner or later players will be injured.

If one wishes to impute a Divine motive then it is not the injury, it is the recovery that matters.

The responses in this thread are orgasmic for FinD :shifty:. If the guy believes something, you don't have to hijack his thread to tell him effectively: "No you're wrong because I have a different belief".

If one holds the belief that the NFL is staged, then yes. Everything [in the NFL] happens for a reason.

Henne will be back hopefully Thigpen can stay healthy unlil then. Henne stepped his game up right before he got hurt. I still think the kid can make a good QB he needs turned loose give him some freedom and light that fire under his #$%.

For a reason NO. Just the way it is.

Now lets hope Thigpen shows us some aspects we have been waiting to see on this offense.
